Also in NJ- I have been trying for a few weeks now as I've been a Verizon customer for 10+ years and they are totally unwilling to budge at all off my $30 upgrade. Seriously thinking of switching to Sprint for unlimited and to show Verizon but they probably could care less anyway.

Sure. Then when you have to actually order it, it doesn't show up again. I live in MI and talked to someone over the weekend and they said I didn't qualify.

That's why you have them add a note to your account. You must be new with Verizon? They will tell you one thing, and when they do have them note it on the account or you'll have a hard time getting the same results next time.

I called to try and get this deal, they didn't give it to me, but they did change my upgrade date from the 29th to today, so i guess i'll be getting mine on launch day.

edit: just browsing online, it looks like I get a $50 discount on all 4g devices. combine with living social i'll be paying 224.99 for mine anyways

Allentown, PA area and called to check if I was eligible. Simply stated I was interested in going to a retail location to look at new phones this weekend and wondered if they had any discounts for upgrading from a 3g to a 4g device. Didn't mention codes or the gnex on purpose ... was told yes the $100 discount would be noted on my account and was valid until the end of the year

In MA, and I qualify for the CH4GE promo. I just asked about "CH4GE 3G to 4G upgrade promotion."


The regular customer service number 1-800-922-0204 and I just hit 0. When automated prompt asked, I said "customer service."

Got mine added to my account! She said it may come in the form of a gift card or something. She wasn't sure. But she put the $100 3g to 4g promo in the notes. Woohoo!

PS: She did say it was only valid in the Midwest...luckily i live in the midwest

Called Verizon Customer service about the 3G -> 4G $100 off offer and I was eligible. She noted it in my account and the offer ends the 31th. So Now I can get the Galaxy Nexus for $199.

CH4GE is the promo code I gave her.

I called that number and the girl told me it ended in Sept... so I read the link to her and she was able to pull it up only to tell me it only works if you are upgrading from a dumb phone to a 4G smart phone. Anyone else?

On the phone right now...first lady told me there was no such deal (and then proceeded to pitch me the razr), now on hold with a second lady who is at least doing a good amount of digging for me. She admitted it was location-specific. Crossing my fingers NJ is covered.

edit: no luck she said not only is it for select areas but I would have been notified of this offer

I just called. It was for Chicagoland customers (which I am) who originally had Alltel Wireless and joined Verizon through the acquisition. Therefore I don't qualify. He said only these customers received the promotion through the mail

Haha I was actually digging through my old promotions from the mail and saw this one that ended on 9/30/11. If you upgraded from a non-smartphone to a smartphone you got a $100 gift card.

I'm in Eastern NC and the very nice lady on the phone said that she has noted the code on my account; so the $100 + $50 is a nice Xmas gift to me!!! Anyone know of a way to verify PRIOR to going in to pick up my Sexsah Nexsah?

I finally got it on my 6th call. 2 guys, 2 ladies, 1 guy and finally the nice lady. Some were more thorough (promo not on your account, not in the geographic location). 1 lady was willing to give it to me but she wouldn't because she couldn't find the Nexus in the system and didn't want to put the code on my account until it was announced. The last lady did some kind of checking but when she came back on she told me she put the code on my account and that it was only good til the 31st.

I just called Verizon. The girl said I am eligible for $50 NE2. I asked her to specifically look for the "3g to 4g upgrade $100". She found it, said yes I am eligible, and yes they are combinable. Yes she made a note in the file so when I get to a store they will see it. We did not discuss any particular device. I am currently using a DX.

She read the program rules. It specifically states that a device purchased with this discount *cannot* be later moved to another number in the family. She went to great lengths explaining that I would not be surprised. This discount is only for the primary line on the account. You cannot later switch that device to another line even on the same account. Honestly I don't know how'd they stop you later, but that's what the rules said.

Assuming the GN is available before year end, I will be getting one for $149!

edit: I am in Elmira, NY. We do not have 4g service.
