Galaxy Nexus $199

I just called in and talked with 2 different reps.. the first one had no clue about it after she put me on hold and called two different departments. The second guy was aware of it and found it in the system via the "3g to 4g promotion" in the "doorways" system but he couldn't apply it to my account since it was labeled as "chicago" only. I'm in colorado but have a Kansas phone # so technically I'm in the midwest ;).

Argh! I just upgraded my wife's line to a 4S a few weeks ago. They used the upgrade on my line for NE2 upgrade, as she was not yet eligible. I still have 2 more upgrades on other lines, so I wasn't worried.

I just called and since my main line was not eligible, I'm out of luck. :(

I just called and got a very cheerful CSR who tried everything to try and find and apply the promotion for me. But like cowman4000, she couldn't apply it to my account because it was a targeted market thing.

I have my $30 NE2 discount to use, so there's at least that to ease the pain. Considering that I'm coming from a DX, $269.99 for a GNex is not terrible.

You win some and you lose some. She was at least happy and understanding that I was calling to give this a shot. I'm in CT, but I have a 585 number.

Here was my experience:

I called the customer service number and talked to a rep. He looked at the available promotions and noted that there was a promotion going on for people on 3G phones upgrading to 4G phones. I asked him if that would apply to me purchasing a phone in-store on Thursday or Friday this week (hopefully no more delays...) and he said yes, it would. I had him note our conversation and my eligibility on the account so that the in-store reps could see it. So I'll get it for $199! And if they LivingSocial discount doesn't apply, I'll use that on the extended battery purchase.

The only thing that might prevent some people from being eligible is that he did mention it was a MIDWEST promotion only. Maybe the lesser 4G coverage in the midwest are is preventing 4G phone adoption and this promo is looking to ameliorate that...

And if they LivingSocial discount doesn't apply, I'll use that on the extended battery purchase.

I've been curious about this. I looked at the small print link and it says it's not valid with any other offers or promotions. Would my NE2 discount be considered a promotion?

I have 2 phones that need to be upgraded, what do you guys think the chances are I can get this for both upgrades.. they're both 3G phones. One is the Eris so maybe they'll have pity :P

Well....I just went to the Verizon website, to verify what the customer service guy told me, and threw a Rezound in my shopping cart. When it got to the point of entering a promo code....it didn't work. I'm still seeing it as $249. ($50 loyalty figured in)

Maybe I have to buy it over the phone or at the store then?

what is this "loyalty" everyone is talking about?

It's called the New Every Two program Verizon had. They recently discontinued it. What it did was reward you with discounts for an upgrade if you stuck out the length of your contract. $30, $50, or $100 off the promotional price of your upgrade, depending on your account type.

Wouldnt that only be $30?

It's $30 for my NE2 and another $50 for the Living Social offer. $80 is better than just $30 if they can stack.

Isn't the living social coupon only god on accessories?

Just spoke to three Verizon reps and all confirmed I'm eligible. I am also eligible on 12-15-11 for a discounted price which I sure hope is the GN release date. Would love to grab it for 199, but we will see...I'm from Chicago and never received the flyer so I just gave them a call and yes it is for midwest customers only they said.

Just called Verizon CU and confirmed the offer is available in Oregon. She called it the "3G->4G Upgrade Promotion" and said it can be combined with the "new any two' discount as well as the new contract discount.

Plus, I get grandfathered in for the unlimited data plan. Woohoo! Come on, Nexus...
