Galaxy Nexus $199

Took 4 calls and extreme politeness, I mentioned the code which got me the $100 promo.
Thanks to everyone in this thread, you are the reason I registered for the site!

Rochester, NY - btw. Definitely not mid-west. Hopefully it stays on the account when I buy it tomorrow!

"NE2 discount went from $50 on Monday to $30 today"

What!?! How did it reduce from $50 to $30? I haven't even checked that. Why did that happen?

No clue. This was the first time I've seen it at $30 on phones that were not Apple-made. The RAZR and Rezound were on there for $269 after I had logged into my account ($299 before logging in).

Live in Chattanooga and just called and got the discount applied to our account, but the CSR said the only stipulation was it had to be ordered in the store. Did anyone else get that? i didn't want to read through 22 pages...

CSR I spoke with said it could be ordered through telesales, online(although I don't see how online would get the promo applied) or at a corporate store. I asked her to put a note on my account about the promo being available just in case I drove to the store and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

I tried 3 times today, NO GO. You must be in a Midwest market with address.
They called marketing dept, etc.
I tried the all the lines, promo codes, etc.
I had the poor girl on the phone for 20 minutes searching "3g to 4g" in the system, etc..

You guys are definitely running into some helpful CSRs. I'm 2 for 2 on getting hateful people that have no sense of humor nor a desire to help.

I found that I get different prices if I click on "Shop" (higher) versus "Upgrade My Device" (lower). Try that.

Maine here. I attempted despite being as North and East as possible and it was a NOGO.
Should have expected as much, but I'd thought I'd give it a shot.

Verizon Rep said that it should apply automagically when buying a new phone + if you're in an eligible area for the promo.
Not sure if that was true or bs, but I thought that I'd share anyways.

Should I keep trying and hope I hit a clueless Rep that applies it to my account through sheer ignorance? My Rep went as far as putting me on hold and doing research + asking a Manager about it...so I'm not sure if I will ever sneak myself a deal. :(

Getting again.
I even have the rep calling me on friday back so she will handle my acct directly.
She said she has a cool manager.

SUCCESS

Finally spoke to a competent rep. Told them that a buddy of mine received a promo code in the mail for a discount when upgrading from a 3G phone to a 4G phone. Throw in some lines about how I've been with Verizon for ages and spend tons of money "I don't understand why I did not get this promo, I spend more than my buddy!"...and WALLAH! He saw a discount in the system for 3G to 4G. Made a note on my account and said to use it before 12/31.

For reference...I am in NJ

EDIT: He told me he applied a promo code but not CH4GE...he said that may have expired and is now something different.

So what time can I give telesales a call?

I'm on the fence about this deal ( i have the 100 discount noted) or the lets talk deal...a GN fro 175.00 upgrade...craziness.

Interesting point though...I asked him what exactly was the discount and he couldn't tell me because he said he's not allowed to see it.

inb4 he applied a $1.00 discount

LetsTalk is running the GNex for $175 for existing verizon customers tomorrow if for some reason this deal doesn't pan out. I'm able to use a $30 and this $100 discount towards the phone.. although I see on My Verizon that phones are discounted $50 already(my contract is up and I have a corporate personal account along with ne2).... So tomorrow I'm gonna try for $150 off through telesales.

That worked. Weird...

Thanks for the info. I'll be going to the store anyway, so as long as they take the full $50 there, I'm good.

WOOOT!

4th call was a charm...

I got a very friendly CSR this time, and first I just broke the ice with questions about the Nexus. I then asked about this deal I had seen mentioned online about a $100 3g->4g upgrade for MIDWEST customers.

She looked around and said she found it and that I was eligible. I then asked about putting notations on my account to make sure I don't have any trouble getting them to honor my $30 NE2 and this $100 credit.

She also said that she saw notations on my account that I had called earlier about this and was ruled ineligible. I said yes that is correct and I was calling again because I had seen others who said that they were in Michigan and managed to qualify for it.

So - it is clearly at the discretion of the CSR to do this. I wasn't surprised that they had notated my account - and was very happy that she corrected this!

I will be at the store at opening (10am) to get mine!

I did check out the deal on Let's Talk and considered it, but I can't wait another day for this! I need to actually get some work done during the day!

Also, I saw someone mention earlier that they had never heard of the $30 NE2 and that it had always been $50 or $100. My understanding is that the $30 credit is for customers that enrolled in the program after February 15 2009. See the following (Item 2):

Answers to FAQs

Thanks for the support in this thread. It was worth it to keep after them!

Just wanted to follow-up with my success. I failed twice calling myself on my family plan so I had my wife call, who has a different area code. Perhaps that made the difference.

Confirmation on family plans. It applies to BOTH of our new phones. So that's $100 off each phone tomorrow...both due for upgrades. We didn't see if the NE2 applies on top, so we'll find out tomorrow morning if it's $100 or $130 off of each.

CSR couldn't find the discount but she mentioned seeing it online for others in our area. Thanks other Philly burbs and Allentown folks. He was inquisitive and hadn't heard of the discount, so he checked and found it.

Philly burbs.

I owe someone a few beers for saving us some bills!

Edit: He also (re)confirmed Nexus launch/availability tomorrow

So should it be safe to go in the store and buy the phone if your account was notated for the $100 off over the phone? I'm wondering if in store they will require you to produce the flyer.
