Galaxy Nexus Web Site Only Release on November 21st?

That is not all the article said. The author correctly pointed out that Google and Samsung presented this phone as a phone for the general public. I know that after watching the unveiling I believed this phone was going to be marketed to a wider audience than previous NEXUS devices. If Google does want to market the Galaxy Nexus to the mass market, they are doing a horrible job. If Google's intentions are for the GN to be a dev phone they are doing everything right.

See, I didn't take the unveiling as the phone being more for the general public. I took it as them showing ICS was more user friendly for the public. I still think its mainly being pushed as a dev device. Google doesn't want to get to the point where they are getting involved with kind of pushing their own phone and possible offending other manufacturers, IMO.

Re: Galaxy Nexus Web Site Only Release on the 21st?

Maybe Samsung, Google, and Verizon have set a date. Just because they haven't made it public knowledge does not mean they are toying with it for weeks and months. I don't understand why people can't seem to see that. This isn't like the Bionic launch. People had cause to there. Just because everyone wants it yesterday and its not out yet does not mean Verizon is d!ck!ng around.

lol...have you not seen any leaks lately?? ...........post black Friday .....pre black friday.........10th ...... 17th..........21st............27th.........back to the 21st.... ITS THUNDERDOME!!! I never said dick!ng around but that phrase works perfectly!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe any of these "leaks" were from Verizon. I thought they were all internet rumors.

How is Verizon "messing" around if they never gave us a solid release date in the first place? Again, like I mentioned before, why is everyone getting mad at Verizon over leaks and rumors that you guys are reading online?

Verizon said "by the end of the year". If they don't deliver it by 12/31 11:59:59 PM, THEN they are "messing" around. They promised us nothing about the month of November.

The documents came from Verizon supposedly which is how rumors got started.

Didn't Google/Samsung say November during the press event?? So if Google/Samsung say November and Verizon says the end of the year.....where does the problem logically seem to be? Many people on here are saying Verizon makes more on their bloat infected phones so this brings back what I was originally saying.

I honestly forget their exact wording during the press event, but they were referring to the GSM version, not ours. I also believe they said nothing about the USA at all.

They said by the end of November, but they never said where. People assumed they were talking about the US release for some reason.

Probably because Google is a U.S. company and the past 2 Nexus devices have been launched here....just sayin?

Re: Galaxy Nexus Web Site Only Release on the 21st?

The article says it's the Tegra 3. If the Tegra still doesn't play well with LTE then it really won't matter as anything without LTE is a no go for me from now on.

There are no incompatibilities between a host processor and a communications protocol run by a radio system. This stuff needs to stop being said. It's misinformation.

The radio is completely self contained and the data link from the 4G LTE radio looks like any other data link to the processor. There is nothing magically or mystically incompatible about LTE versus 3G or even WiFi. It all looks the same to the processor... which has far more than enough throughput to handle 4G.

If someone starts spouting this garbage to you again, ask them if they are an electrical engineer. If the answer is anything but a simple black & white answer of "Yes I am", stop listening.

I'm am in almost constant slack jawed disbelief at the statements from people claiming to be technically savvy. And don't start me on tech writers.

probably because they invited people from the states to go to the event and they never said it was going to be limited to just one side of the planet.

I understand, but its still nothing but assumptions. It was the ICS unvieling as well, that's why everyone was invited, plus the fact it was pushed back and originally supposed to be held in the US I think.

If we hit December 1st without a date, then I'll start saying something. Until then its just pure impatience.

That's what Motorola said in a press release. That is why you hear it so much. Maybe they were lying, seems you know more then they do.....

Re: Galaxy Nexus Web Site Only Release on the 21st?

I have a feeling vzw is about to do something stupid. The razr launches on Friday the 11th. Black Friday is 14 days (return period) after that. I have a feeling that vzw will not launch prior to Black Friday.

And then NVIDIA refuted such notions that the Tegra 2 had any issues with LTE radios, citing the Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE tablet on Verizon as an example of having no problems (at the time). Of course the Tegra being their product, of course they would do that. But it's hard to argue with the fact that Samsung had no issues using LTE with a Tegra chip on a mobile device.

Not that I don't think there's a possibility of this thing launching after Black Friday, I just don't think the return period would have anything to do with it. I find it hard to believe that there would be a mad rush of people who would want to return their Razrs to get a Nexus to justify spacing out the release for that reason alone.

Rezound is launching 3 days after the razr, not to mention verizon makes money off plans so as long as you have a smart phone they don't care. Plus they said they are going to release a new phone every week for rest of the year. So yeah

I am probably wrong. I know the rezound is launching at the same time, but 3 phones? Especially one without bloat? I may be looking too much into it but it's almost as if the nexus is the ugly redheaded step child and vzw would rather sell the other bloat heavy ones.
