Galaxy S4: current software update

a week ago I got a "software update" and I installed it.
After installing my wifi would not stay connected and it searched and connected.. disconnected, search, etc...
constantly. Thus draining the battery FAST.
Plus firefox no longer worked.. Chrome barely worked...
So I reset the whole phone... (pain )

now it wants me to reinstall it again. I dont want to go thru all this again.
How can I stop it from insisting I install it?

Has anyone else had this experience?

When you do a factory reset, it resets your delvac cache. This is where your phone creates pathways to access the information your asking it to access. I have found a hard reset usually fixes these problems.
I just did the system update, and this is the first time my phone has worked properly afterwords. And I'm on like my 10th android phone and been thru many updates. I've learned that after a system update just bite the bullet and reset the Damn thing. Set it back up, and your good for another year.
Just my .02 worth.

I agree. I had to do a factory reset in order to even get the update due to some moronic problem posted elsewhere, but if you download and install the update before you do anything major, everything should fall in line with KitKat. Sometimes OS's fight like territorial dogs and when one tries to change it, the existing framework pitches a big one. Try to install it ASAP before you do a hell of a lot else. It may go more smoothly

oh thanks for asking!
Well as I said, I had installed the update, then had all sorts of problems. So I reset the entire phone.
When it all was reinstalled, I again had the icon at the top asking to install the update.
After talking to you guys, I hit it and found out the update stayed , even tho I reset the phone.
And the little icon at the top was just a confirmation of the install. Whew.......
So far everything is working great!!
