I just tried installing the lock ring from the BAMF website and it once again stuck me with a blank lock screen. I am re installing the rom now so I can get back to a functioning lock screen. Any ideas? Please.

Sounds like something is messed up with your install... double check the MD5 Sum code of the download file... then be sure to do a full Wipe, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache... then install the ROM.

There are many warnings listed about modding this ROM. Stick to the approved mods. That being said...I have used sense 3.0 rc 4.9 mods for icons and the dialer with no ill effects.

You have to be sure it is a lockring for BAMF Forever. The previously made lockrings for 4.9 (and other GB ROMs) DO NOT WORK WITH THIS ROM.

I believe this is because this ROM is using a different port of Sense 3.0, although it may also have to do with the newer GB base as well. Either way, most of the mods and lockrings for the older ROMs no longer work. (and if they do, ADR does not recommend using them).

Here are some examples of mods/lockrings that are compatible with Forever:

I guarantee you there will be more to come, but in the meantime your options are to wait, learn how to make them yourself, or flash an older ROM.

Is it sync'ing the weather when you manually sync or are you getting an error?

No error at all. Sync is successful and no errors
When I go to the lockscreen...it just reads the no forecast available BS

got a noob question...how do I correctly go from 1.0.4 to 1.0.5, it says to flash 1.0.5 over 1.0.4, but what does that exactly mean? I don't do the data wipes and such? Thanks!

No...flash 1.0.4 in recovery... Then flash 1.0.5 update right over it.

so I flash 1.0.4 in recovery and do all of the data wipes and then I just flash 1.0.5 in recovery without all of the data wipes? Sorry

Yes...full wipe..cache wipe..dalvik wipe (3x if you are paranoid).
Then flash 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 after it.

I ran the stock kernel for a while, and just flashed IMO's latest yesterday.
[Kernel] [GB Sense] leanKernel: minimalistic kernel (3.7.1GBtest, 9/13/11)

A little too early to tell which I like better, but both seem to run just fine. The 3.7.1 IMO kernel has more frequencies available, and runs smooth, but may be a bit more of a battery hog. On the other hand, the stock kernel, even without the ability to overclock, ran pretty well too.

Ok, I see what might be a bug. I made a folder and dropped some icons in there. And now some of them are generic (droid dude) - yet they launch.

Did a reboot and all but one returned to their app icon.

Did not see this before.

Out of nowhere my unit went into a reboot frenzy. Had to pull the battery.

I had to roll back to shiftsense. But not before I backed up a good copy of BAMF.

No longer called toolkit. It's BAMF Settings, and I'm sure they'll improve upon it with more features like changing font/boot animation/ splash screens later on

Since no question is dumb, I'll go ahead and ask if any file renaming has to be done along the way. Do I have to rename the 1.0.5 flash to anything else, or do I just flash that zip?

And do I need to delete BAMF_Extras in going from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4? I believe so, but please confirm. Thank!!

No, just flash the 1.0.5 patch just like you would any other ROM... just "Install zip from sdcard"... and you don't need to wipe anything... it's a simple update of a couple of programs.

Yes, delete the BAMF_Extras folder from your SD card when going from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4... and actually you need to do a full data wipe, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache also before installing the 1.0.4 ROM... after installing 1.0.4 is done then install the 1.0.5 patch like I described above.
