Gear S to Gear S2

I have a Gear S but haven't used it for awhile. I currently have been wearing the Moto 360, 1st generation. I am debating if I want to go back to the the Gear S or purchase the S2. One of my frustrations with the Gear S is if I dismissed something from the watch, I still had to dismiss it from the phone. Is this still true with the S2?
Also, if there is anyone who can tell me of any advantages that the S2 can give me over the Gear S, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you dismiss on the S2 it is also dismissed on the phone. And vice versa.
