Hey this is the link for the 4g connection to catch earlyer and stay connected longer and I will tell you the better settings that I use and your 3g will be even better oddly

For the question asked about does this work on nonrooted phone it should work the easy way to get temporary root is with z4root and click temp root and there is a app on the market called msl reader you could use that to get your msl code and the use the settings from both links or use mine tested tweaked settings

Ok Guys and girls the only thing that I have played around with are my

HTTP PD Proxy port| 0

HTTP PD Proxy address| 0.0.0.0

Wimax_ENTRY_Rx(RssI)(dbm)| -100

The for wimax setting is -89 by default that is just if anyone wanted to know and by setting mine to -100 for some it made a huge difference for my 3g because when trying to download a app off the android market it said downloading and was at 3% and then bam it was saying installing application crazy fast

And my youtube player would was so slow I never used it now the video is about 45% loaded before the video is started but i want to thank the original Guys and girls who found this I very much appreciate there hard work in finding such a sweet trick but use the settings the I have posted and use the rest in the 4g hack but the one I have posted for the wimax one and you should be good to go with super fast downloads and streaming.

Oh ya I just wanted to answer a question someone had asked I have deff seen some change in my signals strength for calling it sits low sometimes now and I don't really care cus I call but not much but I always use the internet and I never have problems with service drop calls or dropping internet but for sure messing with the setting the way we are are drastically going to change cuz we are switching what Sprint intentionally put for us like everything dealing with root you do have a chance breaking something when you don't read very carefully or mess with something and not following directions

Ya it should work on non Rooted phones you'll need z4root to get temp root and then you'll need msl reader in the market to get your password to unlock the phone it is unique to each phone

This worked for me also. ...

-Previous max download speed at my office was ~1.50.

-With the adjustment, I hit 1.85.

-This morning, while in the parking lot at a shopping center, I hit ~2.8!

I don't use an app. I use Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test.

Didn't work for me. My speed and ping has been rather bad the past couple of days (NE North Carolina). I have the hotspot app and actually pay for it, but I'm getting to the point that I'm going to get the free version. I don't mind paying for things if they are worth it....but this isn't worth an extra 30 bucks a month.

My first attempt at this mod did not work for me. Everything went fluid, got my MSL, changed my settings. Went from (before fix).5-1.0 to (after fix) .0-.3 ranges. Read XDA forums pretty thoroughly. Tried changing the rstp to 0 as well. No change. Went back to stock settings and back to .5-1.0. I will try this more later when I am in different coverage.

Right now I am on the west side of Eugene, OR. I have decent 3g speeds...but I'm sitting on the edge of the 4g area (i can connect and get 5 mbps roughly) but its a hit or miss in different rooms of my apartment.

I am curious as to what #2 post meant by 0001/0001. Did you literally put 0001/0001 in the HTTP PD Proxy Port? Or did you put 0.0.0.1 in the HTTP PD Proxy Address? Some clarification to see if the different values helps me.

After the 4g fix the phone won't stop scanning for 4g. Even if I turn 4g off and reboot phone. 4g comes on automatically. Any ideas what's up

Hum not sure I saw something like this before try and see if there is a way you could force stop it some how or look around I think I saw the problem in the new update thread because that was making it do that to

I couldn't find the fix so I flashed back to the previous backup and everything is back to normal. I guess I won't mess with those settings

There is a new prl update if you go to your settings and system updates click prl and it will give you these numbers 60675 your last update numbers where 60674 so it tells the phone which cell towers to prefer and I have got 4 bars everywhere in my house where as before in my little cell block of an apartment lol I could get 2 and a half bars lol but they still got those downloads good now there even better for some reason you should check it out and see if anyone else got it I might be late but know one posted it here

Oh yes I have settings just like I posted and now there stronger and steady I was before getting week week signals but oddly still downloading quickly but know I have solid bard everywhere in my house with the same great quick downloads yessssssss haha
