It's hit and miss based on who you speak with at VZW. They told me unless they had the IMEI in their system, they would not activate it.

It's not hit or miss. No need to call Verizon, no need to have the IMEI "added" to their system.

An activated Verizon SIM will work in a Nexus 6. Period.

I can't believe it... I am on Verizon and was hoping to get the N6 and thought I was out of luck... I can just buy it directly from Moto unlocked and throw my SIM in it and thats it?? I understand that I have to pay full retail, but thats OK...... Could someone just confirm that?

I bought a N6 from T-mobile last night, full retail. They didn't even turn it on in the store. Came home and threw in my Verizon sim right before boot up, and it worked flawlessly.

I bought my Nexus from Motorola. I had to jump through some hoops to get a nano Sim because my Verizon phone was a RAZR Maxx HD. Once I got the Sim, I had to convince the chat person to activate the nano with my Maxx IMEI. It was easier because I was up front about wanting to use the nexus. Once the sim is activated, put it in the Nexus and so far so good!

Yes, pretty much except you need a nano SIM or will need to cut your SIM. That's the easiest way without having to jump through hoops.

I moved my SIM from my Droid Maxx and have since used my SIM in my M7 and LG G Pad and have had no issues when putting it back into my N6.

This is false. I'm a Verizon customer with an at&t N6. I had the N6 activated under my at&t account. Put in my Verizon SIM and had no issues. No reset needed, no calls to Verizon, no waving of a magic wand.

I've repeated this at least a dozen times in this forum. There is so much misinformation about this it's ridiculous.

If I'm wrong I apologize but then it begs the question went did the factory reset work for him when he couldn't get the phone working on verizon before then?

Got mine last night at I powered it up with SIM from my VZ 2013 MotoX. Worked without any issues.

Yes I can confirm this works as well. I took my Gnex sim, cut it with a sim cutter, popped it into my N6 yesterday and it worked, no issues.

I also got VZW to send me a nano sim. When VZW starts selling the N6, the IMEIs from Moto/Google bought phones should be in their system and then I'll activate the sim they sent to me.

Any info on Verizon Nexus?

Hey all. I've scoured google but cannot find what I'm looking for. I have been eligible for an upgrade on verizon since January and really need a phone. My Galaxy S4 is dying a slow death. I really want the Nexus but there's no way I can afford to buy one outright. Is Verizon getting a Nexus or was it just a rumor? I've been going back and forth between the Nexus and Note 4 and Verizon has a pretty good deal on the Note but I wanted to know for sure what was going on with the Nexus. If they are going to carry it but will not release it for some time I don't think I can wait. Anyone hear any chatter? Thanks for the help.

At this point, it will be next year before Verizon releases the Nexus if they ever do. More than likely it will pop up without announcement at some point for online order only. Doesn't seem like they have any interest in getting this in customers hands quickly.

The Moto Droid was released on Oct 30th, Verizon has an exclusive with it, so I would expect to see the Moto Nexus release around the 30th of Jan.
This amount of time will also give V more opportunity to put there mark on the Nexus 6.
Droid is there baby i would not expect them to put out another moto product which they had no control over.
Just Sayin IMHO

Would be pretty sweet if not locked to Verizon... I figure by mid 2015 we are going to see a flood of 810 devices and probably one or two in the 5.9 inch range...

I'd suggest you hold out for a Moto or Play Store unit as long as your S4 is working at all. If it actually dies before you get the N, at least you know you had no choice but to get teh Note/TW.

I just got mine, with the Droid Turbo also. I love the Nexus. The form factor is not an issue. It's rounded back fits my pocket BETTER than the clunkier shape of the droid. And while both phones perform well, the big screen can't be beat. I am able to set up my homescreen identically as my N7. No more forgetting which app is on which screen in which folder......Just a matter of murdering the battery for a couple of days to confirm it'll last, and the Turbo goes back.

Bought mine from Motorola with their no interest financing...stuck in my vzw sim and am loving it.

Waiting for them might take too long.

Why can't these carriers just leave it alone. Verizon already has their big Verizon commercial aka the Droid Turbo, no one who buys a nexus wants vz apps or bloatware.
