Google Pixel 5a - A tempting value option or just left over old tech?

I usually do the same but the 5 is gone! There are no deals on it!

Yep I suspect Google's trying to force people on to the 6 by stopping production of the 5 early this year. It's one of the first times we won't be able to pick a Google flagship up new at places like B&H photo/video on clearance. I hope they don't do the same with the 6 :(

So strange to see the Pixel 4A 5G on the Google store for $499 and at the same time the 5A for $450. What is Google thinking?

Im sure they going stop making the 4a like they did the pixel 5

So crazy! What's going to happen for those of us with Preferred Care on the Pixel 5? Do we know anything about that? This phone has only been out for a year, right?

I replaced my shattered screen 3a with a 5a, and it was the right move for me. It's bigger, a little quicker, and of course the battery is a beast. Had intended to wait for the 6 but ultimately decided that for me Pixels are about the software experience and an improved camera, new processor, and wireless charging weren't going to be worth the extra money or longer wait. I have no regrets after a week...and sure that could change when the 6 is finally unveiled.

They might have stock left for warranty replacement or probably give you pixel 6 if they run out maybe 5a not sure.

I suspect the move is a result of tight supply chains. They can't get enough materials so they have to stop making something in current production to make new product. Just a guess . . .

You could be right....these are strange times

^^^TRUTH^^^ I can hardly wait to see how smoothly the sales/shipping of the 6 goes. We could be in for a rough fall.
Thank God the 6 is the exact number of beers in a six pack of Bud - problem solved - ;)

$600 in "good" condition. For the extra $99 I would rather new. This 3XL needs another battery. The replacement has only lasted 6 months. I may just pick up a 6

$600 that's good to hear. Seems pixels are giving good resell value.

I know the Pixel 5a was designed as a value proposition, but lack of wireless charging is a major flaw for me. Once you've gotten used to wireless charging its tough to go back to plugging in with a wire. I hope to be sticking with a Pixel 5 in the very near future.

After all my talk about not needing to upgrade...I caved and got the Pixel 5A (barely used) on Swappa. Waiting for it to arrive. I will test it out and hopefully there won't be any green tint issues that I have been hearing about. I love my 4A and the size but the IP Rating and huge battery on the 5A really interest me.

I know I could have gotten the best of both worlds with the 5 but there's no headphone jack (yes I STILL use this as I don't have bluetooth headphones), and the under display speaker not being so good it didn't interest me. Sadly with the 6 Google is not doing smaller phones but given the reported specs I imagine they need a pretty big size battery so it can last longer, meaning bigger device.

Yep that's my only real complaint about the specs for the 6.... the smaller 6 is already at the max size I can semi comfortably pocket carry, and the pro is way beyond that. But I'll never know for sure till I see them in the flesh, if they're completely bezel-less with a narrower aspect ratio they might surprise me ;)

I hope you like your Pixel 5a! I agree with you about it being a bummer that Google isn't making any smaller phones with the 6 line.
