Google Pixel - How is your battery life?

Thats strange. I have WiFi/BlueTooth always on. 15 minute ride to and from work playing streaming audio.. Have facebook/messenger and other known "battery draining apps" and can manages ~5 hours of SOT.

Do you have regular pixel or XL? I've been jealous of everyone's 5 hours of SOT, most I've done is a hair over 3. Thought maybe facebook was the culprit, so just deleted the app in favor of mobil web this morning, going to see how that goes.

So just for fun I used the "Live Support" feature and they sent me an email to better your battery life. Most of it was dumb stuff like "turn off Bluetooth if not using it". But the 2nd to last step is enable "Safe mode" by holding the power button, then holding down on "power off". This just disables all of your 3rd party apps.

I've had it in safe mode for a couple hours now and have already noticed a big difference. I'm going to use it for the rest of the day and maybe tomorrow and if battery life is amazing (like most of you are getting) then I'm going to assume it's an app causing the drain. I only have a handful of apps installed though and they are all well known apps by trusted developers so I'm not sure how to figure out which one is the problem.

You have ESPN installed? The last 6 months or so I've noticed that app has always been towards the top of battery use.. The Note 5 and 7 were the last two device I used before this.. I have not even installed it on my Pixel yet. I basically only use it to send me push notifications when the Cubs start and with the playoffs I don't need to know that..haha.

I've been getting great battery life so far.. I unplug the thing at 7am and usually don't plug it back in until midnight or 2am when I finally go to bed. I still have unlimited data through our corporate contract so I never use WiFi but I have both a Android Wear and Gear Fit 2 connected via bluetooth at all times.

I do not have ESPN installed. The apps I have are:
Facebook, Smart Audiobook Player, Feedly, Flixster, Pandora, Tapatalk, Allo, Duo, Netflix, QR and barcode reader, Chase Bank, ColorNote, Amazon Shopping, alarm.com, Android pay, Android wallet, Facebook messenger, untapped and Zillow.

Does anyone know if the wake locks I'm seeing correspond to the phone hunting for signal, or are they attributable to an app/apps? Been at work all day (the period with no WiFi usage) and can't use my phone, so not sure what's keeping it awake.

That said, when not at work, I'm seeing 5+ hours SoT.1477955861034.jpg

So even in "Safe mode" with all of the 3rd party apps disabled I still only got 2 hours of SoT. The last thing I'm trying is a factory reset. I haven't installed any of my apps yet and I'm still on track for only 2 hours of SoT. I downloaded Gsam just to track it but I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary. Is there anything else I should try or look at? Or could it be the device? Standby time seems good, but using the screen drops the battery faster than it should.

Something is not right for sure, I am getting 3 hours + SoT off the charger from 6am to 11pm and that includes playing CPU heavy games for 1-2 hours a day.

I did a test on the weekend and did not play the game and I was able to get over 5 hours SoT

I'm wondering if I just don't use the screen enough during the day, as dumb as that might sound. My question is, for those of you who don't use your screen for 4 or 5 hours a day what kind of battery life do you have at the end of the day?

Every phone I've owned the screen is the biggest drain on the battery. So I'd get, say, 3 hours of screen on time whether that was in a 5 hour span or a 24 hour span.

With the pixel though, I almost think it's the opposite. Instead of being limited by SoT I'm limited by total time. I get 18 hours of battery life whether that's 2 hours of SoT (which is my average) or 5 hours of SoT (which is other people's average).

We'll see how it does this weekend though.

I agree, I'm a heavy user and get on average 16+ hours with 6 hours of screen on time. Mixed LTE and wifi, texting, emailing, on twitter, and listening to music over my Bluetooth stereo headphones for almost 3 hrs. I'm very impressed, this phone has given me the best battery life out of all Android devices I have ever used.

According to a new report Google has fixed the detail on the website which now reads: “15W – 18W charging” where It previously read: “18W charging”.

How fast does your battery discharge if you aren't using it? I lose about 2% an hour if it's just sitting there...

So something is up... I haven't used the screen much at all today (gsam shows 10 minutes) and I'm already down over 10 percent battery.

Same here. I have bt on, and Android wear always connected. 40% brightness. 5+ hrs sot. It's really Impressive.

If you tap the graph, what does your cell signal strength look like? If there is a lot of orange and red....that could be your problem.

And 95% is currently at about 30 mins sot.

Does anybody know how pixel battery life is compared to pixel XL? I prefer 5inch phone and battery life is also very important for me. I am sure XL will last longer but by how much?

Reviews seem to indicate about 5 hours SOT for the XL and about 4 for the standard Pixel. But obviously take other peoples' battery life numbers with a massive grain of salt.

A co-worker has a pixel and he's getting about 5 hrs too. There really seems to be very little difference beyond size. And even the size isn't that different.
