Honestly, at first, I wasn't planning on buying the pixel phone time I was going to buy the OnePlus 16 because of the price point. Now, because Verizon had a promo deal for $400 off the price of a Pixel 3, I went for it. I've always loved The Pixel phones and straight up Google phones etc etc. now, of course that's not to say that I wouldn't have loved and enjoyed using OnePlus 6t, however I do truly admit though I obsessively love my pixel 3 XL more so than the OnePlus 6t. And yes for me owning a Google phone mean something. I'm not going to lie. But yeah $900 no phone is worth it especially Galaxy phones or iPhones! And I can't believe the new Galaxy S105G is $1200. I mean as my father was taught me, Phones will be getting more expensive as long as people are willing to pay for it... Whether it's $40 a month $50 a month etc etc. That's supply and demand. As long as consumers are willing to spend the money per month or whatever it is, companies continue to create high-end flagship very expensive smartphones. Now, will I wind up spending a lot of money in my future for five your phone? Not for that meantime; I'm waiting just like everyone else is waiting for 5G to be a mainstay reliable stable network just like 4G LTE was many many years ago. what I do truly believe will happen, we'll be that foldable phones and 5G will be a great marriage for the wireless industry and the next several years. Not now but in the next several years yes. 5 g's limitless and folding phones open up that capability and bandwidth. But it's nowhere near that yet.
Oh I know haha I agree I don't get why Google did the pixel 3A and 3AXL only to some more phones of course. But it is what it is...I was referring to the "A" series
Yes, I completely agree. The actual hardware of smartphones and computers has not advanced in quite a few years.Let's be a little fair: Hardware is not advancing by leaps and bounds anymore. Most things related to a computer (and smartphones are computers), have arrived at the point where we need a shake up in the basics in order to get amazing specs year over year. RAM just got upgraded to DDR5, probably won't see a mass rollout for a few years, and DDR6 is supposedly in the beginning stages of development.
To be honest, since the actual hardware of smartphones and computer does not advance so much. Every smart phone for the most part looks the same. again, to reiterate, I love the pixel not just because of the best in class camera, but software updates, ease of use with actually usable features and not gimmicks. I'm still not not everyone feels this way which is fine, but I also really dislike Galaxy phones because they're too gimmicky and most consumers don't use all on the TouchWiz features at Samsung markets and buildings in the phone.I have said it before and I will say it again, if it was not for the amazing pixel camera and free Google photo full quality storage, I would have left a long time ago. Many other more appealing options out there. So, in 2019, pixel 4 needs to go beyond just the camera.
Oh I can't will be! For example, my sister and brother-in-law live an hour out of Denver Colorado. Denver, just got 5G from Verizon! It'll be at least a couple years before 5G becomes a mainstream, which is why I'm not worried about My next phone anytime soon. My pixel 3 XL XL will last me quite a few years at least. It will be a looong time before 5G to be in my home area . If ever it is. I do live close to a large city compared to other cities in my state but not that large of a city nationally. So for me 5G phones isn't going to be a priority . Ha
Will the 5G phone still work in a 4G network ?
My sister and brother-in-law live an hour out of Denver. Denver just got 5G lit up by Verizon wireless. They both have iPhone 6's. I don't know anyone that has a 5G phone yet and I probably won't know anyone that has a 5G phone for quite a while either. The 5G phone is supposed to be backward compatible with a 4G network I've heard. manufacturers need to figure how to make the phones still nearly extend with enough power to make the 5G antenna and screen last all day long for media and data consumption. It's the same concept as when 4G LTE first hit the market years ago. While you are talking about a 5G phone.
And you said your brother and sister in law got a 5G phone.
Will the 5G phone still work in a 4G network ?
Google sales are down because of this kind of stuff.
I don't know if I should be shocked or not but I did watch that YouTube video last night. And this journalist seems to agree with what I already said: https://www.cnet.com/news/pixel-3-phones-arent-selling-and-its-probably-verizons-fault/
While you are talking about a 5G phone.

Thought that the 5G Phones was gonna cost more.
And I heard, correct me if I'm wrong after reading what you said.
4G phones will not work in 5G networks. And 5G phones at present will not work at present in 4G networks.
And the price of the 5G service is gonna cost more
Thought they was gonna make the 5G cell sites bounce off things to make it reach out farther.
Know they show pictures of people putting 5G cell sites on top of telephone poles on large cities.
Looks like its gonna cost a fortune to out our 5G service.
And it might even work into a infrastructure plan with the government.
Looks like they would worked this out more before they started talking about it and firing everybody up.
Me personally and my Wife.
We are not willing to pay more for unlimited service.
Don't care how fast it is.
And we do not watch movies on our cell phones.
Not sure how everybody else feels.
Oh, of course. all of the wireless cars are going jacking up the new data prices for 5G connectivity in the future. An addition, carriers are also probably going to cap off data plans because you're going to go through a 5G data usage quicker than 4G of courseBut when Verizon does charge more for 5G.
How much are they gonna charge.
Sounds like a lot more, from what I read a while back.
This is a way to hike prices.
But when Verizon does charge more for 5G.

Looks like nobody has planned to allow for everybody to go threw more data.
So they want to charge us more to slow down the use.
Thought 5G was all about being able to stream movies down to your phone.
At what cost. Losing your data limit.
Data should be Unlimited.
Not capped. Or slowed down after a certain amount.
If so. Why create 5G networks
I believe 5G is nowhere near ready to go out.
And what are we gonna do.
Have one band for Verizon.
Another band for At&t
And another for Sprint.
And they want to lock you into the carries phones so you can't go to another carrier if you are not happy.
To me a phone should be able to work on anybody's 5G network.
You tell me.
I'm just replying to what is said.
what you think about pixel 3a?
I agree the Nexus line should of never been cancelled and ran side by side with Pixel line. This is the heart of Nexus still beating. Something I think that shouldn't have been cancelled. I can understand a name change. I'm honestly thinking of picking this up, if only to give some sales numbers to a device that is actually more in line with what I want than anything else. I probably would have bought this as opposed to the standard 3....however, my 1st gen Pixel wouldn't have been able to stand up to the additional 6 months of use. No way.
Does this mean I am unhappy with the Pixel 3 original purchase? No. Absolutely not. Given the exact same conditions, I would have bought it.
