Google Shamu: Motorola Nexus 6 (Nexus X)

i predict Nexus X will be same starting price as Nexus 5 ($350). i am also predicting a 13" Nexus "Pro" Tablet. not sure when it's coming though.

Nexus 6 Phone
Nexus 9 Tablet
Nexus 13 Tablet

lol... The main reason I was so excited about the Nexus 6 being 5.9 was so I could migrate away from having a tablet anymore.....

I think a tablet still has a place in the phablet world, albeit a lesser role. For me at least I will more than likely leave my tablet at home for lounging or bring it with me while traveling out-of-town to extend the battery life of my phone (leave my Nexus 6 for texts and phone calls, Nexus 9 for everything else to pass the time on trips).

Anyways, more gadgets to play with!

See I might end up a little further down the road buying a Nexus 9... Just because of the "More Gadgets to play with" part of your argument....

For now I plan to sell my Nexus 7... keep the Nexus 5 as my back up device if I just happen to drop the Nexus 6 and break it..... I already hardly ever use my Nexus 7 anymore... with 3 Chromecast on each TV I just use my phone to stream video to my TV's.... Web browsing on my Nexus 5 is okay while at home... and I still have my laptop.... PC still has a small place in the home (for now)

I heard $419 starting point from a friend who has worked for Sprint for many many years... but he couldn't say if Sprint would actually carry it or any features... Just said $419 for 32 gig and by the end of October....

and then you got this below which hopefully is WAY OFF

Nexus 6 (or whatever it ends up being called) should come in under £450, but don't expect ultra cheap.

— Paul O'Brien (@PaulOBrien) October 9, 2014

Popular Android developer Paul O’Brien recently confirmed from one of his sources that the Nexus 6 (also rumored to be called the Nexus X) will be available for under £450 in his region. A quick conversion and that has it coming in around $750 US dollars, which is obviously wrong.

It’s worth noting the Nexus 5 is £299 from the Google Play Store in the UK, and many UK retailers were asking £399 for it when it was first released, as they have quite the markup and pricing is different by region. This suggests that the phone could be upwards of £100 or more than last years model, which makes sense given the bigger HD display, front facing speakers, improved camera and bigger battery. This means we could be looking at a $449 and $499 Nexus 6 in the US, compared to the $349 and $399 starting price of the current Nexus 5.

Was looking into the Note IV...but this...I wanted the X+1, but I also wanted a phablet. Looks great.

I don't think it'll be coming out on Halloween, I personally think it'll be unveiled if u will next week along with all the other Google stuff that's being announced then.

Still keeping an eye out to see if Verizon gets the new Nexus, though I highly doubt it. If it comes to Verizon and is in the $449 range, I'd buy it.

I was really hoping to get a new Nexus tablet, because while I love my 2013 Nexus 7, it suffers from a very annoying rebooting problem. Figured I'd just buy the new Nexus tablet, but don't really want to pay $400 for the 9, and the stuff people are saying about Tegra turns me off as well. So, I guess I'm stuck with a Nexus 7 that constantly reboots itself while I'm in the middle of browsing. :/

I can't remember where I read it (but it wasn't here at AC) but I also heard recently that the Nexus 6(X) will be announced around October 15th or 16th -- along with the Nexus 9.

Have you tried reloading the OS via a factory image? You can find details on how to do it in the Nexus 7 (2013) forum. That should fix anything other than a hardware problem.

I have the Nexus 10 and really love it around the house. I wish they would release a new edition of that tablet as I would upgrade to it since this one is going on 2 years old. A Nexus 6 as a phone and a new Nexus 10 would be the perfect combination for me. Of course the price's would play a factor. I guess I am spoiled with the prices of the previous Nexus devices.

Nah, but I've done a bit of wiping and flashing of ROMs, and the issue has persisted across every single one. I researched the issue a while back, and from what I read at the time, people were saying it was a hardware defect, and that you had to have Asus fix it. Me, I'd rather just but something new as opposed to sending something in for repair, so...

Google Nexus 6 launch on October 15th

Earlier this month there were several reports that Google would be launching its new Nexus products on October 16th. However, Apple announced its new iPad launch event for the 16th, which mean Google probably wouldn't be going toe to toe with Cupertino. And so it proved as Mountain View clarified the situation today by scheduling its event for October 15th, with Android L also likely to arrive alongside the Nexus'.

Of course, the company probably had this date pencilled in long before the Apple connection, but it is interesting to see probably the two largest mobile companies launching just one day apart. Going up against Cupertino is daunting as the press will be focused on Apple pre and post iPad launch, but there is plenty to be interested in regarding Nexus too.

Reports today have only discussed the HTC made Nexus 9 tablet arriving at the event, but it is almost certain that Google will also roll out the Motorola built Nexus 6 smartphone. The company will also roll out the full release of Android L, with all products thought to be readying for roll out during the first week of November.

I wish that article read like the author hadn't just made it up, though. Unfortunately, he did make it up, which is why he uses "almost certain" language, without citing to a source of any kind.

Yep. Total bs article.

Very concerning that this device hasn't passed through the FCC yet.
Last year's Nexus 5 passed through on Sept. 5 and 12, and ultimately released Oct. 31.

Here we are on Oct. 12 and still nothing. I don't see how it could possibly launch this month.

i don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that they release both tablet and phone along with Android L on October 15.

Not at all beyond the realm. Many people are speculating it. However, that's a different deal than suggesting the article in question confirms it in even the slightest way.

i didn't think the article tried to do anything other than simply connect the dots.

During the 2 days before the N5 being released last year there was pictures of it taken by staff of phone shops as they got their stock in. If it is to be released this week then expect the same in the next few days. I tend to agree that this week seems a bit soon as there is a real lack of leaks. It could just be that Google have been super tight this year in regards to leaks.
