So after getting the email yesterday afternoon that my phone was received, I got another email from Google concerning my upcoming refund for Stadia hardware and game purchases which provided a link to pay.google.com to check for any possible issues with payment methods being available for refund (i.e., change of credit card expiration date).
Lo and behold, looking at https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/activity I saw that a credit of $540 is being posted early this morning!

I was very concerned at first because it indicated that I was getting a "Google Store credit" but on calling in to Google they confirmed that it was not a credit in the store, but actually being applied to my Google Synchrony account through which I'd purchased it (they definitely could've been clearer in the description of the credit).
At any rate, if you go to the above link, you can likely see your credit applied well in advance of receiving the actual email confirmation, which I still have yet to receive.
