Gorilla Glass? (Corning Tweeted No)

you own an optimus t bro... that doesnt use GG.. you have no experience of how GG holds up..

that is an ENTRY level phone.. it launched @ 29.99...it probably has a plastic screen and not even glass..

alot of people stopped using screen protectors along time ago.. just because you seem to like them.. please dont imply that anyone else does.

I don't have an Optimus(?). I have the baddest phone they make.

I'm just going on what your profile says dude.

If you have a GSII I can understand you being protective of it.. but if its anywhere near as durable as the GS1.. you should be all set.

I personally am annoyed by screen protectors.. I dont preserve my phones for resale.. I use them as backups when I'm done.. so during my prime use of them (while they are still my #1 phone.. I want them to be as nice looking, as comfortable to use etc)

Maybe its not GG.. but whatever Samsung did with the GS1 it has made me very happy.. I had Zagg protective shields ordered before my phones even arrived.. I had all intentions of dealing with a screen protector.. but with the combination of it looking annoying IMO, feeling annoying IMO, and the gorilla glass videos that launched at that time.. I felt safe taking it off.. and I have thoroughly enjoyed not dealing with it since. (and having a flawless screen)

I have the T-mobile Galaxy S2 (Hercules). It has the 4.52" screen and the very fast 1.5 ghz processors. I paid cash for it and am very protective of it. I love the feel of the glass, but fear that first scratch. After all, it's not diamond.
And the Optimus-T has glass, and I will change my profile to avoid any further confusion.
Oh yeah. I had Zagg on this, but took that orangepeely junk back for one that's truely invisible.

i have the nexus s and i work in construction and this thing has taken many falls and its in my pocket during the entire work day. The screen doesnt even have one scratch on it and i never use protection. If the gn is anything like the s than i wouldnt worry about a thing.

I've had the Samsung Charge since July with a nude screen. Not a hint of a scratch anywhere. The surface is just as smooth as the day I bought it. I'm not sure if it is Gorilla Glass or some other glass, but it has held up exceptionally well. Granted I keep it in dedicated phone pocket with nothing else.

Have a Storm 1 for almost 3 years that i have travel the world with it and golf cart abused it..... not a mark on it... Maybe they should use that glass

Supposedly, the GN is supposed to have "fortified " glass. Whatever that means.

Jesus! Still with the stupid Gorilla Glass? An admin should come shut this thread down.

It means its fortified like Gorilla Glass, without the Gorillas. Guess we can enter puns about no animals were harmed while making this phone. *Bu dum dum pshhhhhhh*

Nothing wrong with civil discussion. We don't always like the threads we read. My suggestion is to move on to other threads if the subject bugs ya in this one.
