Got ROMs? Flashable ZIPs for your Alltel MAXX!

Alrighty, good news! I downloaded the 030913 "nightly" version of the rom, used the latest gapps, and everything worked! The system booted right up, ran the setup wizard with no glitches, and is running like a top now.

Perserverance pays off!! It only took about 25 or 30 sets of wipes, downloads, and re-boots, but I finally found the winning combination.

The reward is that this JB rom is VERY memory-efficient, and runs much faster than what I had on ICS.

GOOD STUFF!!!

Signed,

Another Satisfied Customer :)

BTW there's a new version of CM10.1 that hashcode released. It runs much better than before and is running from the new JB kernel. The hwcomposer has been fixed so there's no more screen tearing or glitches. Its nearly perfect.

Great. Now that just needs to happen to aokp. Not a fan of CM.

Those changes should be coming to aokp soon if they haven't already since hashcode is the lead dev for this phone on the aokp team. Will the cm10.1 alltel patch work OK on the aokp 4.2.2 builds or do we need a diff patch?

Well, I'm sticking with what I got for now, since it took me a whole day to get it working! LOL

@iaminflames - In regards to the CM10.1 kexec build, does your 3G quit working after a reboot? On fresh install 3G works fine, until I reboot. Wondering if you are seeing this issue as well. If not, do you mind sharing your build.prop.

I had that happen a couple times where I restart and then I see No Sim Card on the lock screen the only way I could fix was to reflash the ROM, gapps, and the alltel patch. I haven't had it happen since and I'm not sure why it happened. Sorry that's not much help but just my experience. My build.prop is just the one included in the alltel cm10.1 patch.

Also did you try a restart before restoring your apps? I wondered if it was something I restored from titanium backup.

Same here. Only way to get it to work again is the 4 wipes and reflash everything. Strange. Glad it's not just me seeing this. Thanks man. I guess if one never reboots they'll be fine. :D

I can reboot as much as I want and it never happens anymore. Not sure what happened its weird.

If it happens again, you might be able to just wipe both caches and flash the patch again. Unfortunately, my knowledge is limited on this subject as a whole so it's hard for me to diagnose why that's happening to you.

Also noticing the 3G is really slow, flash back a non-kexec and it's normal. Do you see the same or is 3G speeds normal for you? Will have to watch the xt912 threads and see if they are seeing any issues like these.

My speeds seem fine are you on the newest build?

FYI, wiping both caches and flashing the patch doesn't fix it. However, wiping both caches and factory resetting brings 3G back but still slow speeds.

I'm using KEXEC-cm-10.1-20130312-UNOFFICIAL-spyder.zip from this page Goo.im Downloads - Browsing cm10.1

Just found something new. Goto Settings / Wireless & networks / Mobile Networks. There are a bunch of options here now. What is selected for Network Mode on yours? Mine was on LTE/CDMA/EvDo. Upon first reboot 3G worked, 2nd reboot it was gone. I found under this section that CDMA subscription had changed from NV to RUIM/SIM. This is why it says no sim card, its looking for one. Change this to NV and toggle Data enabled off and then on and 3G returns. Now we know what's changing but questions is, what's changing it and why.

FYI, Flashed cm-10.1-20130316-NIGHTLY-spyder.zip with the new JB kernel and everything is working great, except flash on camera but that's a known issue.

I'm on that build also and I'm amazed how quickly this ROM came together and how functional it is. Battery life is great and its very speedy.

Also just released yesterday is the new Paranoid android/aokp/cm10.1 4.2.2 hybrid ROM with new PA pie interface. It looks very promising and runs kexec so it will work for us. Check it out https://t.co/2oPdBVqKcF
