Hi everyone, thanks to those who have worked on / are working on this stuff for the XT908. I bought one off eBay by accident, I expected an XT912 but to my surprise, the XT908 exists.

I've been trying to get it running up here in Canada on Fido's GSM network but I've been stumped... got it rooted, Safe Strapped, and got CM 10.2 running, but no luck making it an actual phone yet.

There are a few posts on the net talking about "unlocking" the GSM frequencies using Radiocomm but I've no idea how to do that... if it is even required with Cyanogenmod ?? The Network Mode in the settings now shows all kinds of modes including "GSM only" etc... but nothing has made this thing into a phone for me just yet. Any help greatly appreciated.

Never mind... I just swapped out the XT908 mobo for an XT910 so don't need to do this anymore (hopefully the nightmares will end now lol)

Kindly guide me on installing a custom rom on my xt908 please guys. I am having weird problems like default text messaging apps getting crashed everytime i open it. Even did a factory reset and its of no use. Also everytime i reset my phone i can see only CDMA n LTE options in my network mode. To enable gsm i have to go to the dialer and type *#*#4636#*#* and change to gsm only mode. I will list the ABOUT PHONE details here since i don't know how to proceed in installing a custom mod.

The device is rooted as i have the superuser installed but i didnt install a safestrap yet. Kindly guide me a version to install and also a suitable ROM which is good for daily use.

This should help you get safestrap installed. As for gsm roms I don't have any experience with them but CM10.1 spyder_umts should work.

Dhacker posted a working CM11.0 build for the spyder. Of coarse 3g/MMS doesn't work. I am setting up to build CM11.0 now. Any of you with the 4g/LTE version on the XT908 may want to try out his build.

Awesome. I've been following the progress over on xda and it's exciting hashcode and dhacker and back working on the omap platform again. Thanks for your work!

I did a build that got done at 5:00 this morning. No 3g for me. Will see whats been updated since........ I don't see anything but will repo sync and do another build tonight and see what happens.

Making some progress getting 3g to work. Status and logcat show I'm connected and a have a valid IP and DNS addresses but still no data. Spent the whole day looking at the code and applied some older CM10.2 commits to get to this point. Don't know how the devs do it

I wish I knew more about building from source so I could help with this. Everyone here really appreciates the work you're doing for us small time RAZR users.

This Element person decided to try it too. Data switching after WIFI is working perfectly, which I had to manually reset in 10.2. Sms and calls are also working fine. Only problem I ran into was checking the mobile data settings I saw data service type wasn't selected so I chose 3g, even though it was working, and that caused a series of force closes I could only stop by reinstalling from the zip. I've avoided doing that again and it's working perfectly. Just says Altel lol.

Make sure you use the right gapps. I updated my previous post with a link. Yeh I noticed the data service didn't show anything selected but I don't get any FC's after selecting 3G. I think it's just some missing code or bug causing it not to show which is selected.

I switch between WIFI and data often so this build's switching seamlessly is awesome. Seems pretty solid.

I'm not receiving mms messages. Could that be because I'm on element using the Alltel build? I'll try a few things and see if it works. I can call voice mail fine.

I have another build building now. Will test it and if all is well I'll make some builds for the different carries. Element MMS info and apns are different than alltels. See my github page, it shows all my tweeks and changes to get to this point. Github.com/Craptorman.
