GS8 & GS8+ Midnight Black Otterbox Owners Unite

And you mentioned using it on numerous phones. Ok I may pick some up. The regular films and glass ones are just not working.
Well, it seems some more recent reviews talk about bottles being used. I would check another brand. It's got to all be the same stuff.

True, saw that. Thx for the info on this. I've never even heard of this stuff before.

I'm just not seeing any bulge unless both the charger and earbuds are plugged in. Otherwise, no bulge. Got mine at Best Buy.

I decided to check out another case, I watch a lot of videos so I got a Spigen Tough Armor for the kickstand plus it looked pretty good. It's ok however the Defender is far more substantial as far as protection. I'll be sticking with the Defender.

One thing that's really bugging me when I switch cases, which I do frequently, is that it pushes up the screen protector (film). So frustrated with that. Now mine looks really good without bubbles, but it's pushed up in two of the corners. Dangit!

Amazon has now slashed the price down to 39 bucks for the s8 Plus Defender black! Almost best to maybe buy something cheap like a Supcase Unicorn Beetle as a backup case and use that for a month until the Defender prices drop like a rock, then buy one. That's cheaper than what Sams by me is selling it for.

Just checked out a Defender at Sam's club and it also has the bulge at the bottom of the case. Seems it's by design.

I bought the Anker Wireless Charger at amazon, it was on sale.

My S8+ had 47% left and says 1 hour, 56 minutes to charge.

Every Defender I've had I've had some minor issues with them but they offer the Best protection still.

I put it this way. The Defender is like a muscle car. It's clunky and noisy. However it is built for performance.

The ones I have after taking them apart a few times the inner plastic starts to creak a bit because the tabs expand slightly which causes it to have a little play in it. Again, like a muscle car it's built to perform, not the prettiest thing.

Mine has the bulge too.

A backup case I have but don't use is the Caseology Leigon. It's their Defenderish case and it's pretty darn good and comfy in the hand. It doesn't quit have the protection the Defender has, but it's similar to the Commuter and Unicorn Beetle protection wise. A good buy if you don't want to spend $$ for Otterbox but still get good drop protection.

Muscle cars are sexy!

I have all three of those cases you mentioned. Don't much care for the Legion, love the Supcase and Defender, creaks and all. I go back and forth between the Unicorn Beetle and Defender. Kinda sucks though because I know swapping them like this will make them degrade faster.

That is why I kept the S7 Edge so I don't have to keep taking my S8 out of the Defender, plus I don't like having an 850 buck device unprotected and held in place by two plastic tabs on the VR.

I have supcases for my S7 and past devices. Not bad cases for the money but they're too stiff. Ive also read people breaking the Supcases after one drop due to the harder materials and some reviews of them breaking after a few months. Starting with the S7 they seem to be using a harder rubber on the Defenders that doesn't stretch as much over time. I'm keeping mine in the Defender all the time now unless Tech 21 comes out with the XT Tactical version of the Evo case. I had it for my Note 7 and LOVED it. It's the only Tech 21 case I've ever liked and protected the sides perfectly too.

The XT is their Defender style case they only make for iPhone now. All the other tech21 cases are too thin for me and are junk. If the XT comes out for the S8 Plus I'm ditching the defender! In fact, I'm going to contact them and ask about the XT for the S8.

Sweet I'd be interested in checking out that XT also.
