I was reading through all the threads about 5.1.1 and it seems people are having a lot of battery draining issues. If this is the case, I'm happy just to stick with this current version.
I've had the phone since release without issue. I use package disabler, so this may help. I've never been too impressed with any of the Android updates, so I'm not concerned. In fact, I may refuse the update. My previous phone, the Galaxy Note 4, worked great until it was updated to Lollipop. With Lollipop, the Note 4 became terribly slow and laggy. My only issue with the Active is that it will likely never be rooted. I don't care for custom ROMs, but I find having root access to be very useful.
I think some talked to at&t and they stated the Active should be getting 5.1.1 by early November. With all att rollouts you can bet there will be issues. The price you pay be getting an att branded phone. The only reason I got this phone over a nexus is the larger battery. I'm tired of wasting time reading forums and rooting and romming. If they ever come out with a nexus that I like I will get one. So far I've been happy with this phone and thank god for package disabler.

Only had my S6A for two weeks or so back in July. Had zero issues with lag, freezing & the battery was amazing.
Only sold it because I could make $100.
Not sure about the 5.0 L updates. But I did look on the list a couple weeks back for the phones that Samsung was going to update to Marshmallow & the Active(G890) was not on it.
Samsung has started working on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for these devices - SamMobile
Also, the glass on this unit is no different than the regular S6 variants nor was specifically marketed to be any stronger. The only
addition it has is a slight raised edge around the bezel that provides a little protection.

Why?
Disabling bloat for one thing. Also you can find out what is draining your battery of you are having a drain issue, when rooted. I haven't loaded custom ROMs when rooted ever.
I believe the Package Disabler Pro app lets you disable most bloatware now.
I just hope they will push 5.1.1 instead. 6.0 mean my Packaging Disabler will not function or take time to update for functional.
