Guess I'm going to leave AT&T if we don't get 5.1.1 by the end of the month.

I am currently downloading the update, as well.

I'm looking forward to playing around with Samsung Pay at the grocery store tonight.

Let us know if Samsung Pay on the Active supports MST. Otherwise I will probably just stick with Android Pay. Are there any other advantages to Samsung over Android Pay?

I, too, will stick with Android Pay if there is no MST support. I will let you all know.

My phone is noticeably less laggy after the update. I'm very happy with it so far.

Unfortunately, Samsung Pay will not support Discover until the end of the year, so I won't be able to test it out. It did say that it will work at any card reader, though, which definitely seems to confirm MST.

I noticed it had less lag also. I will play around with it more this evening I have to get on the road now.

I just tried to use samsung pay with two different coffee shops and had a huge argument with how they are not capable of taking mobile payments. I told them I had samsung pay. Eventually one of the managers came and told me to just pay by card.

All you should have to do is hold it up to the card reader. When they say they are not capable of mobile payments, they are most likely referring to NFC, which requires a special terminal. Samsung Pay uses MST, which simply mimics the magnetized strip on your card.

Just ask them to let you try and just smile when it goes through. It is really quite cool!

Flick it open from the bottom of your screen. Select card if you have more than one, Enter your PIN and it will start pulsating and then hold it right where you swipe the card and jt will go through. Lots of examples on you tube.

For people who are unlocked on another network, seem like you can update through Smart Switch. I am seeing the new update despite not seeing any of the previous patches before. And since the new update is for 5.1.1, I assume it would include all the previous patches.

Update on Samsung Pay. I just used it at the grocery store that does not have NFC and the MST technology worked fine. The cashier said that apple pay did not work and I said I was going to use magic and put my PIN in and held it to the swiper and it when through. She asked me if that was your magic or mine and I said both! ;)

I used it at Walmart and it took it fine too. The phone keeps vibrating after it accepts the payment though and I have to press the bac button to stop it.
