[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][6/30] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Last time I checked it was worse for me as well. Went from being within a few hundred feet to being about a quarter mile off lol

Mine was working on V2 but now its not, just looked on google play and it seems that a lot of people are having issues with maps according to the comments

Re: [GUIDE][6/30] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Anyone having any problems flashing any jelly bean ROM? I can't get it to work on my phone. I tried axiom, vanilla, jelly belly and all I get to is the boot animation and it locks. I've started a thread to try and get some help but I figure if you throw enough crap at the wall some will stick. I even changed ICS roms and tried them all again and I go into a boot loop every time. It sucks seeing everyone else using this and I'm flapping in the breeze. I'm running AOKP VERSION 40. I do all the proper wiping and leave my phone for at least 30 every time.

How long do you leave it at the boot animation for? Is it moving?

Have you done full/complete wipes?

Even after ya calibrated the compass,in the tools settings ?

I did whatever that last option was that featured reset and download. I'm going to give it an honest try in a bit, b/c I'm a sucker for second chances, so I'll do that as well. Thanks :).

Only issue that I am running into so far with Vicious 1.3 is that on my status bar the Wifi and LTE status symbols don't turn blue. No connectivity issues, just a weird occurrence

Not sure if this is new to jelly bean or if I just haven't noticed it before... the camera app will allow you to take a picture while taking a video. You just have to tap the screen while recording video. Pretty cool.

HUMONGOUS BIG UPDATE:

A general guide to softbricking/restoring your device and putting a custom recovery on your phone has been added to the tips/tricks post. Please double check this, I did it from memory, but i'm 99% sure it's 100% valid. :)

Tried Vicious v2 & v3 and fl0w rims, but can't get any of my games like GTA 3, Max Payne, Amazing Spiderman, NOVA 3, etc to work. They all force close on startup. Anyone else had these issues and know of a fix?

It could be that they're simply not compatible with JB right now?

Well Jelly Bean was a blast I flashed JD's,DT's, and Vicious over the past 48 hrs .I didnt have any major issues,a few glitches, all my apps functioned but one( My verizon app) just needed to get back to the more customizations .Having to recharge phone again before restoring all my apps but flashed Aokp 40.
I will jump back to Jelly Bean in a couple weeks and its polished a litte more and devolpers adding customizations into it .:)

Also, on Jelly Belly 1.3, flashing 1.4 when the download finishes. That being said, it booted faster than ANY of the other roms by far. The dev also said he fixed whatever issue existed with the different recoveries.

It's been there since ICS, Taking pics while shooting video is not an HTC ONE deal, it's always been in ICS.

Opening MAPS and waiting for a gps lock and closing maps could be the temporary fix for gps issues.

I am traveling and the gps cut out every few minutes. Worse, the phone has crashed a number of times today. I have seen that cool nexus x more than I would like!

Stupid question now that I've flashed to Vicious v3... where's the power control widget? It was on the screen when I initially flashed, but the first thing I did was to toss/remove everything to customize from scratch. Now I'm not seeing the widget available to place back on one of my home screens.

If you haven't rebooted since first playing with the homescreen, you might try that. I've seen a couple posts saying that widgets wouldn't initially show in JB's widget drawer until after a reboot or two.
