[GUIDE][8/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Figured I'd ask Google Now some gag questions, expecting not to get any actual answers. I lol'd when I got this:

^^^Do they accept Google Wallet?:D

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

i may be slightly confused, so correct me if im wrong.

Are the V2 ROM the same as the Jelly Bean ROM?

if not, which is better and more stable?

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

V2 and Jelly Belly are two different ROMs based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Everyone seems to say Jelly Belly is the best at the moment, but I was in the process of installing and setting up V3 when that shift in opinion appeared to start happening and I think its running great. So pretty much I'm too lazy to redo everything since V3 is functional for me.

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

BTW. Turns out i figured out why i have the Roaming Indicator Off label in my shade.

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Anyone able to get games like GTA 3 working? Haven't been able to find a ROM yet that it works with. I wanna DL Amazing Spiderman but doubt it would work.

Re: [GUIDE][7/1] Jelly Bean Now! Resources & Discussion

Here's the answer (at least in my case, results may vary)

LTE just lit up in my area the day i rooted, Friday. I noticed i had 4G signal because the V2 ROM has it turned on by default.

Yesterday, when i arrived in Mansfield, La I need noticed that the 'Verizon' label in the shade had turned to Roaming Indicator Off.

This subsequentatly lead to my clear over reaction and panic. It seemed my battery was draining faster than normal.

I used the Wug Toolkit to unroot and went back to stock and started over this afternoon.

After this i called Verizon and inquired about what the term Roaming Indicator Off means.
(This is important, because i didnt want any unexpected charges popping up.)

The rep for tech support informed me that i wasnt roaming and that the indicator was simply stating that it was somehow offline.

I need went into settings and toggled the Roaming switch several times and rebooted.

That my friends was the end of that issue.

Now as regards my battery life...

Well, lets just say that leaving on NFC when you clearly dont need to use it isnt the most battery friendly idea.

Once i switched that off, ive noticed my battery holding a lot stronger.

Now again, this worked in my case, so i cant be sure that it will help others.

if nothing else, you can always just follow dmmarck advise and go and change it manually.

Included in the rom.

OK so I was going to flash v3 and now reading that jb1.6 is the way to go. I see the su.zip file included. I downloaded the new gapps and both kernels. Which kernel to use. What order to flash? Rom 1.6 than kernel than gapps.
Once last question why did Google release a new os when ics is still so new and phones are still getting the update for ics .
So who's up a 6am of I have issues with jb lol.

i would wipe data, clear cache partition and dalvik, then format /system. then flash the rom, then flash gapps, then reboot (the rom comes with a good kernel, i would try it out before flashing franco's kernel personally, but if you really want franco's you can flash it after you flash gapps, then reboot).. either way, when it boots up, leave it alone for a few minutes before you sign in to google so the kernel can settle in without being bombarded with tasks.

Haven't experienced this, but do you have roaming enabled in your settings? You incur no charges unless leaving the US. Try toggling that, perhaps? Or set it to home only?

Good luck.

Glad you got it straight ;)

GPS is "working" but is still is off by about 50yrds. But I had this problem before I flashed anyway.

There are many people complaining of Google Maps location discrepancies, so I believe the issue may fall with them.

I ran a few different GPS apps, and they were all accurate, so it's not the ROM.

Yup. It's worked for me the past two nights, knock on wood.

Also, 1.7 is out! Make sure to get the new gapps too.

No wipes bro, no wipes. I will wipe cache/dalvik b/c I'm flashing 1.7 + GAPPS + JB13 in one sitting.
