[Guide] Tools and Information for Mac OS X Users - Updated 04/07

I really have done everything. I have check USB debugging, it is Awake, I have restarted my computer and my phone, tried following all of you people's suggestions, but still it says "error:device not found" over and over again. Is there anything else I can do, because I am pretty sure I have done everything

is that a pop up window or in Terminal? If it a pop up when you plug it just click ignore and carry on. If it's in terminal I'm not sure.

Error device not found

Look at my post #61. It's a pretty foolproof way to mount the phone & have the mac recognize it.

Yeah I tried your foolproof way, the first time disk utility said it was disk5 and second time disk2, both times it said there was like no directory or something and that it couldn't find it

I have downloaded 1-click- clockworkmod 2.1 -2.2 at least 5 times. No app will unzip it. I have tried Archive, disk utility, powerpoint. I can't figure out the problem. And the entire 11mg downloaded. What's up

Did you follow the directions about turning off the usb select files then turn it back on & then press enter in the terminal (After you copied the phrase into the terminal)? The disk number does change. you just have to make sure that when you copy the phrase into the terminal you change the disk # to what yours says It always works for me

Yeah it worked this time. Terminal gave me this"start size index contents
0 1 MBR
1 8191
8192 31108096 1 MBR part 12"
but then I try to run 1clickroot and it still can't find device

/root.sh

This is as far as I get, and then nothing else happens, any help?

Nope, it was completely functional, i then rebooted the phone, and went to my files, and found su and busybox in it, but I don't know if that helps at all

Not sure why you cant unzip it. Try checking the Archive Utility preferences.

Open System > Library > CoreServices > Archive Utility.app. Then go to the preferences pane and see if the expanded files are being saved to the same directory as the archive.

That just means the files are being pushed.

Try running 1-click-root again. When you get to that point, press control-c. This will stop the process. Then type
./adb shell su
and tell me if you see a $ sign or a # sign.

Still struggling. I can't get clockwork to download. "device not found" my process on page 17 is no longer working & I even found some mac drivers to install & that hasn't worked either. Is there a way to down load clockwork directly into the phone & bypass the mac. Mac's just don't work with samsungs

im in the same boat as maxorange9!

getting the same message:

any help?

So I got thru a bunch to try and get froyo onto my phone. I was at post #5: How to install zip from recovery. (Froyo, themes, other kernels) ... step #4.

My screen says:
Andriod system recovery <2e>

Samsung Recovery Utils
-for BML-

reboot system now
apply sdacrd:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

under that i have a little andriod guy with a white triangle and an orange ! that say #manual mode#

I tried hitting the back button on apply sdcard:update.zip and reboot system now, and nothing happens.
