I used to have only HTC phones... kept my evo 4g for much longer than I should have and it is still a good phone. I decided to switch over to the Galaxy S3 because I had done research and watched tons of reviews on it and decided I wanted it. I originally wanted the Note but Sprint didn't offer it at the time. My SGS3 does a great job. My battery usually lasts all day unless I read on it. Then I only get about 7 hours total screen on time. I have no issues with the keyboard... that being said, I do not use the stock keyboard. (Didn't use the one on my evo either) It sucks that you had so many issues with yours. HTC makes good phones... and at least its not an iPhone.

Had the EVO LTE and took the POS back. Got the GS3 this time and much nicer phone. EVO battery sucked, HTC company ran by a bunch of a** banging Satan worshipers. Hope I didn't offend anyone with my ignorant comments. Note sarcasm.

Spot on. Except I wasnt actually sorry for offending anyone.

Both are amazing phones. OP just wanted to get a rise out of people. That's cool the Internet is now capable of censoring stupid threads, too bad it missed OP's 2nd one. If you struggle to post threads without messing it up, it's little wonder you couldn't handle the S3.

Not really. Posting in an Evo forum about how bad another phone is doesn't mean I am trying to piss anyone off. If I wanted to I would head over to the S3 section and post it there. Go back to your censored little world, clearly you know nothing about the internet.

Well the problem wasnt the stock keyboard, it was every keyboard. I tried 4 different keyboards and they all had the same issue. Slow and laggy, it just wouldnt keep up. Other people have this problem from what I have read, and I was just fed up with it so I had to get rid of it. The phone was laggy from the beginning and I thought I was just crazy but last week it got to a point where texting was a chore. And then it wouldnt autocorrect which would have been tolerable if the words I were typing would show up as I typed. I wouldnt know if I screwed up a word or not until 2 or 3 words later. I have nothing against Samsung, they make great stuff, I want all my appliances and tvs to be Samsung. But not phones quite yet.

The majority of people on this forum are smart enough to realize that both the HTC One X and the GS3 are top of the line devices. I do not own a One X, but I would be annoyed if some stupid fool was saying it wasn't a real phone. It totally sucks that you weren't able to figure out the GS3, but it's cool you replaced it with another phone of similar quality. And if you weren't able to post a thread without jacking it up like you said you did, you probably shouldn't tell anyone else that they know nothing about the internet.

I know how to posts threads, I have been on forums for years. The internet at work is garbage. And if my post bothered you, then dont respond. S3 not a real phone? Maybe you should look up the word hyperbole. If everyone here is so mature and intelligent then why is there a message board in the first place since everyone should be able to solve all of their problems anyways?
There was nothing to figure out about the S3, it just sucked. You're being a sensitive little nancy and you remind me of the people who cry because someone said their team sucked. Its the internet, deal with it and move on.

Edit: Oh just saw you're a Jazz fan, that explains the butthurt.

Yikes. This place is getting sensitive...Paul.

If opinions affect you so, don't read them.

In other news, is the EVO 4g Sprint's flimsy version of the Rezound's magnificence?

<<<?Sent from my Rooted (soon to be) 64+ gig Rezound!>>>

I agree. Paul. Chill. He is entitled to be passionate about his post and opinion. Everyone knows what the SGS3 offers. I find it refreshing when someone tries a device then opts for a different phone and likes the result. No one can argue that either phone is a fail regardless of what he says. But he had clear frustrations that he noted, so good on him.

I think you honestly had a lame duck and should have tried another Samsung phone. I only have the SGS2 and don't get any lag while typing and get instant auto correct using SwiftKey. I have have played with many Sgs3 phones and lag is certainly not something I saw or felt in any way.

Regardless, glad you got the HTC that thing looks so awesome.

Calling someone out for being a joke does not always translate to being sensitive. You could bash the S3 all day long and I wouldn't care, however I guarantee I would make fun of you for being so childish. On these forums, so often people instantly refer to everyone who disagrees as "sensitive" as if they aren't supposed to disagree. I found your thread to be full of contradictions, as well as your posts thereafter.
A) You call the S3 a crappy phone, but yet millions and millions and millions feel that it is the cream of the Android Crop. It's fine you don't like it, but don't resort to childish behavior or it's impossible to take you seriously.
B) You insult people's intelligence when in your original post, you admit that you were unable to post your original thread. That is hypocrisy.
C) Maturity and Intelligence would never eliminate the need for a message board. However it would eliminate the ridiculous crap that appears so often (see your original post for the reference to "ridiculous crap")
D) being a Jazz fan doesn't really translate to Android. I don't catch your "butthurt" comment as it has nothing to do with anything. It's going to take a lot more than that for you to get credit for a decent burn.

Now I have to step in wearing my Mod hat..

There is no need for any further insulting, personal insults, belittling of anyone. The OP did come off a bit strong in his opening post, that is why I commented to try and defuse the situation into something good. It was obvious the OP was frustrated with his device and opted to swap out for something else and he's happy. Were all entitled to our views and opinions but I will not let the thread go further if were going to insult or pick each other apart.

For anyone who thought I was being sensitive about the OP or his comments, thats the furthest from the truth. As moderators we read thru hundreds of threads like this a week so its nothing new.

For what its worth though.. My wife has the SGS 3 from Sprint and she's content after her million complaints coming from the Samsung Epic 4g. I have used the SGS 3 and its a hell of a device. No lag, texts just fine using Swype beta or the included stock KB. Although auto correct in my own opinion was a bit funky so we just opted to turn it off on the stock KB but then she loaded up Swype beta and all is working fine :) Battery life is as expected... She gets thru an 8 hour day without troubles with social media polling, tons of email, txting and phone calls...

Let me see if I am understanding this:

Paul627g responded to the OP within 20 minutes on how posting his negative opinions about a device wasn't good (despite also saying that "everyone is entitled to their own opinions") because it would give others a "false opinion of the phone/manufacturer". I'm a little confused because I don't see him doing that to every opinionated post on these forums. Actually, it wasn't said to anyone else on this thread who voiced an opinion either and it's been much longer than 20 minutes. Interesting. Are we supposed to just say that every phone is great, but the one we like is just a wee bit greater? That's what it sounded like. But some phones are actually huge piles of junk that should never have been sold to a single consumer. If we aren't allowed come here to vent our frustrations, sing praises and discuss, vigorously, these devices we all care about so much about, I need to find another Android site.

And if somebody comes to this site, sees only this one specific thread, reads the original post and nothing else that followed, then decides to purchase the EVO over the GS3, that person should be considered an imbucile and shunned. But I don't think anyone does that. I think people look at tons of opinions in these forums. It's easy to weed out the posts from haters and fanboys of a device. Then folks can make their own decisions and form their own opinions after they have gotten the device of their choosing. But I suppose if we're not supposed to give our opinions here that can't happen anymore.

FWIW, I've read hundreds upon hundreds of threads here and I have seen some vitriol and hate spewed forth for all kinds of phones. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't rank this original post as one of those. It was pretty tame, actually.

I hated 'Swype' as well when I first got my S3. But as soon as it was replaced by SwiftKey, I was happy. I came from the Razr Maxx to the S3, and if the battery meets my needs, it ought to meet anyones! Not that people don't use their phone differently than me, but the Maxx is battery king. I think the battery on the S3 is at worst, average. If it is bad enough to make you despise your device, there's a very good chance that it is a fluke, and you just need to get it replaced.

My whole point in my first response was the OP came in very frusturated, making comments about how it sucked and didn't really give much insight to what his problems were.. He just stated it was basically a pile of junk but he loved the stock alarm clock? Now am I wrong for trying to get a change of tone out of the OP? Eventually the OP did explain in better details his problems which some may still believe are very fixable or it was just a lemon device which happens often when your pumping out thousands of phones a day in production.

If I wanted to be a jerk about things I could of just shut down the thread and classified it as an OP "trolling" for a discussion but I did nothing of the sort. I believe in giving members a chance to voice their opinions and get some reasonable debate going. Anyone who knows me or has seen me on the forums here knows I love discussion and get involved from time to time, I'm a previous Android Central Advisor for almost a year before moving up to Moderator so I have seen all different sides of the coin here.

Again there is nothing wrong with giving your opinion that is what the forums are for. It is hard to believe the SGS 3 or the HTC can be put into a category of "sucked" so that is why I tried to get a little better insight and get the OP talking to open up about what his problems were with the device. He did and I'm glad he opened up a bit more as to what it was leading him to his opinion of the SGS 3.

Sorry if that offended you, I see you have a Samsung. My need was a smart cell phone, and the S3 that I HAD was basically a paperweight. It stopped autocorrecting and the lag on the keyboard was unbearable. The battery was terrible. It was pretty much plastic all around. There were few things I enjoyed about it. I'm not saying it wont fit someone elses needs. I'm sure there are many people out there who want a phone by a popular manufacturer that takes great photos but you dont need to ever text anyone, ever. Then the S3 is a great phone and I recommend it to you. People can make their own decisions and one persons opinion is just that; we dont need you to come here and tell everyone that what I posted was opinion and not fact. Everything on here is opinion. I dont see the point to your post except for maybe boosting post counts. Thanks for the bump tho.

I send 2000 to 3000 texts a month on the S3, and I can tell you that what you are describing isn't the general experience with the phone. In fact, I have 2 of them in the house and neither behave even remotely like what you are describing.

I'm sorry you appear to have gotten a bum unit, but please know that your single experience isn't enough to paint the entire product with such a broad brush. This is what you are doing and I really think you are doing other readers a disservice. If I got a bad unit of the EVO I wouldn't declare all Evos garbage.

Just saying.

Holy crap dude, this isn't 4chan. Personal insults are not allowed. I've gotten infractions for way less. I assume you don't care, but just a heads up bro. BTW, have the S3 and the One X, they're both great phones.

So anyone care to add their experiences with the texting? Have you had lag problems? I have seen the auto correct probs, that I can contest to having some issues...

General device lag, I'm not seeing it... That 2 GB of RAM fueling the TW UI seems to do the trick.
