Guys and girls...CHILLAX! Google said we would recieve them mid july.... According to my calendar it is July 15th which is MID JULY! I recieved my UPS tracking number for both of my tablets and expect to see them soon. If this was august and we hadnt recieved ANYTHING then I would be a bit worried, but please stop creating posts like this because its ludicrous. Google should compensate us because they offered pre-orders and we got UPS tracking info all by the time they said we would get it? The only store that has sold the Nexus 7 is Game stop and those were pre-orders with a 'slight' slip some of 'supposedly' them sold the tablet. Google never promised us hey order from us and you will get it before gamestop or other B&M stores.... You guys are really blowing this thing out of proportion.... And dont hate me.. I am just tired of seeing these posts :)

For the Bazillionth time. It's not just Gamestop. Sam's Club, Adorama (who ended up getting an order to stop and then have resumed shipping on the weekend) in the US. Ebuyer in the UK. Staples, Memory Express, NCIX in Canada. Let me know how all those retailers co-ordinated to outmaneuver Google?

And here in Canada, it's even worse. Not a single Canadian pre-order has shipped. Some stores are promising online shipping on Monday. So store buyers who bought over the last few days will get it a week before any pre-orders. This is after paying $19 + tax for shipping.

I gave up. I went to Staples and picked one yesterday morning. Will refuse my shipment. Apparently Google would prefer the lower margins they get through the retail channels than the higher profits they get from direct consumer sales. So be it.

enough of the sugar coating it. don't see how just because a stores like gamestop decided to release the product earlier then google wanted makes it googles fault? no where was it official said was going to launch on july 13th, thats just when ugh people been trying to explain that shady gamestop and other retail stores released it. they have had it in stock for months before play store pre orders were told when to release but decided to release early doesnt mean that was the real date!google had no idea that the stores would sale sooner so dunno why people are like if knew could get in store sooner wouldnt of pre ordered ugh people get over it not the end of the world..go have a few beers with your buds and it be fine. we get when we get
 
I hope everyone who complains about this doesn't get refunded. Because they complain too much about stupid stuff.

Not understanding why people feel they should be compensated when they don't receive their new toys when they think they should.

Many of these posts state their cards haven't even been charged so cancel the order, walk into a store and buy it.

This is fun, there at least 3 or 4 threads with a ton of posts saying the same thing over and over.

Look back on your posts in about 2 months and see how many rants, ALL CAP COMPLAINTS, silly demands, and clever quotes from Wikipedia you use to beat this dead horse. Mind you I am having fun reading these so by all means keep on keeping on.

I really like the "no fair, I'm in a small town I can't get to a store that has them in stock" complaint...so...uhhh why would even care that Sam's or Staples has them and how on earth would you get it other than using Google?

Were Google to commit fraud like that, you can bet that I would pursue them through Small Claims court and file a complaint with my provincial Attorney General. I don't take being robbed kindly.

Especially when Google has refused to cancel my order even though it hasn't shipped yet.

What a well co-ordinated conspiracy. Gamestop, Sam's Club, Adorama, Office Depot in the USA. Staples, Memory Express, NCIX in Canada. Ebuyer in the UK.

Multiple chains in 3 of 4 launch countries screwed up. Massive conspiracy? I don't think so. When the failure is so huge, it starts at the top.

Call Google and try cancelling. I already picked up an N7 in store. Google won't cancel my order even though my card hasn't been charged. They are telling me to just refuse shipment. Such shady crap....

You're not being robbed. And they will not cancel your order because it has already reached shipping stage and cannot be reversed.

The reason any company states 2 to 3 weeks is to give themselves a fall back in case something goes wrong.

In this case they apparently had enough to send to stores but not enough to fulfill their pre-orders last week.

That isn't how a supply chain works. Customer orders and retailer orders are separate and have no bearing on one another. The retailer orders were likely taken weeks ago and shipped to retailers within the last two weeks. They are separate stock and one could not be used to supplement another.

Read the quote I responded to. Somebody suggested that Google should defraud those who complaint or refuse shipment.

I know Google won't do that. Indeed, the Play store CSR I spoke to fully admitted that the launch was screwed up. He encouraged me to pick it up in store and refuse shipment for a full refund.

Uh... what? That's how it almost always works. That's why people right now are mad, most of us are quite experienced with online orders and pre-ordering.

Hell, even the Harry Potter books were preordered this way.

You can make things up all you want... people aren't going to believe it just because you say it.

Google isn't apple nor are they the publishers of popular books. Google makes software and web based services. This is their first product that they are helping to ship. And they don't make the hardware. Asus does so yeah.

Then explain pre orders for apple products that aren't shipped two to three weeks after they go on sale in stores due to high volume.

Stop calling people pitiful! Of course Google did something wrong. Many of their CSR have admitted so. Google fully intended to have the Nexus 7 in the hands of the people who preordered early through the Play Store before or at the time of the retail store release. They did not ship in time. They did not make the proper arrangements with their manufacturing, shipping and retail partners. There is no way they would have offered two day shipping as the only option if they were not attempting to time the release. UPS offers many shipping options, at many different price points. Reading between the lines of the shipping messages people have received, the Nexus 7 was supposed to ship between July 9 and July 11 for a July 12 or July 13 release. Whether or not they compensate customers is a good question. I have and will continue to request a shipping fee refund.
