Head to Head Performance comparison of EVO LTE and SGS3

Well I can't tolerate Sprint 3G for 12 months, its barely usable. Pages load forever.

Welcome to my world, and the world of many, many, many other Sprint customers who never got WiMax and are stuck in areas with severely overloaded/overcrowded/oversubscribed towers. There are areas where Sprint 3G is great. But I suspect the majority of areas, especially urban areas, are not great.

Looks like ill be moving to VZW :(

If you are unwilling to wait, that is a valid (although much more expensive) option. If I wasn't in WiFi areas most of the time, and have such a good Sprint discount, I would probably have left Sprint last year. Several to a few years ago, Sprint's 3G was just fine here. But over the last 2 years, it has steadily, month by month, become slower and slower and slower.

^I had a $20 + 15% discount on Sprint so I was willing to deal. The $20 discount dropped and now its expensive. I'd add to a family plan on VZW, so my cost will be the same or a bit less.

I'd just have to get an S3 or RAZR MAXX.

Sprint retention promos sure has dried up...

Yep, they are hurting for money, so they cut things that are probably going to hurt them in the long run. I am still amazed I get my 20% Sprint discount. Although they changed that too, and it now ONLY applies to the plan, and the excluded the $10 "smartphone" fee from the discount.

I've heard from different Sprint employees in different Sprint stores and in one of there corporate offices here in Atlanta that they are suppose to be turning on the LTE here tomorrow June 25th. I know they have had it in some of the south suburbs for weeks(for testing purposes) so hopefully they really well be turning on tomorrow. And they say once it's on it will also improve the 3g signal because it will clear up alot of traffic on it.

Yeah...I've seen it pop on and off in NE Atlanta a hand full of times in the last two weeks so that wouldn't surprise me. Though the insight about it somehow relieving the traffic seems...optimistic at best...unless the Evo LTE and (Haha) LG Viper hv e sold millions of units along with the Galaxy S3/ Nexus...in Atlanta alone...I can't imagine that any of the 3g traffic would stop....its not like everyone that was in At were all on wiimaxx devices that just went 3g when they got their new toys :)

That is true, If I remember correctly they said the 3g would get better because traffic would go down, the 3g is getting a slight upgrade well and like 2 or 3 other reason. But we will see in the coming weeks hopefully starting tomorrow
