Head to Head Performance comparison of EVO LTE and SGS3

I started to wonder if you were or notand I apologize, if you were in my shoes tho and read that could u see how I might have read that and taken it in a wrong way, I thought u were trying to disagree with me alltogether by saying there was no GPS andmeant the same for the other stuff I stated. I do truly apologize tho, I've just had to deal withother people on this matter and I'm just tired of stating my point. But once again I'm sorry :o

Thanks, all is well. I would still love to see the videos. My problem is I want this new EVO, but a few problems are stopping me. I swore I would never get another Samsung product again after the Captivate's problems and Samsung not supporting the problem. But I find myself looking at the S3 and after reading your post that they were poorly supporting S2 also, what's the hope for S3?

The hope is one phone on one carrier same software and all so that only have to update one phone.

Well, I won't tolerate signal issues. I though this was resolved with Samsung using the Qualcomm baseband? No?

The Us version of the Galaxy S 3 uses a disperate wifi modem that's having issues which result in lower than expected wifi performance...as Exynos in Europe/Asia uses its own set of modems...its going to have different issues with the stateside LTE... We won't get to see if they are or aren't impactful until Sprint flips on LTE and we see how it shakes out (much like battery life under late) at least for the sprint variant. As always...its a "wait and see" game

Dude, I'm loving that signature! Hilarious, but so true!

I think I'm sticking with my original thought of keeping my Photon until LTE is on, or at least a date is established.

I think its completely ridiculous there is no public LTE rollout schedule. Surly Sprint knows what order they are implementing LTE. Why would they not let people know when LTE will be on when they buy a LTE PHONE?

I even emailed dan@sprint.com. Should have known that would be worthless. Just a pool of service reps calling people back and parroting website information.

I'm fine buying a LTE phone without the network yet, I'm not fine with buying a LTE phone with no idea of LTE implementation.

Get with it Sprint.

Because they don't want to make any promises they can not keep. I am not sure why they won't put out a list of the ORDER the markets are being worked on, but I can certainly see why they would not want to attach any dates to each area; especially this early in the game.

Doesn't matter to me, since my 1.7 million person area never even got WiMax, so I had nothing to lose when going from the Evo OG to the Evo 3D to the Evo LTE.

^2012, 2013, 2014, etc. is close enough. I'd be even happier with half year increments, but just an idea of when....

Well, they already gave those kinds of overall year estimates. But there were some leaks/speculations that have come about:

It wasn't as bad by comparison to the Galaxy S 1...I think lots of people are too critical...being able to locate you within meters is pretty reasonable...people who ed in the GS1 had a legitimate gripe, people who griped about the GPS in the Galaxy S 2 were largely nitpicking

Wait a minute here, just because you didnt have issues with the GPS in your Galaxy SII doesn't mean nobody else did, or those who did were nitpicking. To this day, I still have issues with GPS in my Galaxy SII, it just wont lock in many cases, it doesn't lock indoors and it has a really hard time locking in the car unless I hold the phone out the window for a few minutes and even then the signal drops. In comparison, my EVO LTE has no issues locking GPS in the car or even indoors.

I think one of the best ways to compare these two, and my apologies if this was suggested, is to give them the same ROM, same kernel (at least from the save developer), and see what's what.

I am torn as I wait for my contract to expire in July. I was first all for the Evo LTE but then seeing forums of people complaining that the phone was having issues with dropped calls and speaker not being loud I started looking into the SG3 (funny as SG3 reminds me of stargate 3) anyways, I like the specs for the SG3 but I have seen the troubles of the SG1 and SG2. I have come to the conclussion that either phone I pick will have some bug or problem, eventually hopefully those said bugs might be worked out. Now I wonder if I should just wait a while .. so torn... Anyone else out there like me?

I have used both phones, s3 only one day however and found that it still had same problems as s2 datawise as I said before, the only issues I've had with the EVO LTE since launch are the multitasking and when I'm on a call the thing that makes the screen go off when put to the face during calls which canbe annoying cause I can't hang up, but I have not gotten any data problems, missed calls at all or anything other than that. Both phones will have there bugs. After owning the s2 for three months I can say I will not be buying one of there phones again, that's for sure, specially since the s3 showed the same problems.

Mine works just fine....your having proximity sensor issues (you could be covering the sensor with screen protector) if not get a replacement, I had the same issue and they replaced mine

Yeah, I have a zagg protector screen on it and I cut the top left off with a razor blade like someone said and it did make it better bit it still does mess up every once in a while, its just super sensitive. Other than that I love my phone tho and would never consider the s3

Network Vision/LTE Deployment Running List - Sprint 4G Rollout Updates

Just an FYI for everyone who's reading this in late June of 2012... When you see the Site Complete = (x)%, remember that was data which was posted back in February of this year, so those percentages are not relevant today.

We're getting a lot closer and I actually have had the pleasure of finding a small LTE area in an undisclosed location south of the KC area, and let me tell you, it ROCKS!!

According to the site, the posting was updated recently (this month). So I am not sure how often the percents are updated (or how accurate any of it is)

Well I can't tolerate Sprint 3G for 12 months, its barely usable. Pages load forever.

Looks like ill be moving to VZW :(
