Hello anyone know how to disable the service provider update when swapping SIM cards ?

Hi All,

the reason i'm asking is because i'm using an unlocked samsung note 20, if i put in the tmobile sim, i get 5g , but somehow if i put in the prepaid sim it shows the service provider update and will not have 5g after restart, if i use the tmobile it will have the 5g. is there a way to disable the service provider update? thanks.

Hi, welcome to AC!

That's normal for unlocked samsung to provision a sim once installed and can't be deleted .

You mention the prepaid sim , make sure it's a higher tier plan and not lower as they won't get 5g and could be your issue

yes, iam sure that the sim have 5g, because i put it in the iphone 12 and it got 5g right away... and the note 20, will not get 5g?

Ok , check make sure in setting>connection>mobile data >network type you see 5g as option?

nope, i don't even have that option..., al i got under the connection is the mobile network, data usage, mobile hotspot. more connection setting. that's it...

Try this, go setting>general management>reset >reset network see if that helps

Then you might have to call your carrier

It seems some carriers don't like a person having access to those types of settings.

Do you have a 5G toggle in your pull down notification shade like on mine.
