I had the same problem on my note 3. Tried everything for 2 days. Your tip works. Thanks a million.
Hi I am having a problem with touch wiz popping up I went to settings and I cant find the my device part where is use to be its not coming up in settings either.
@ Teresa. Hi 8 hours later I wondered if you still need pointing to the setting.
I just picked up this thread and read a lot of these posts. Its not affecting me, but I will like to disable Search.
To toggle Easy mode on and off, it's not under About Device or listed as My Device, in case this is what you were looking at.
Go to the settings wheel, 'Connections' is the first tab. Go to the 2nd tab 'Device', and in the second 'Personalisation' section you will find the 'Easy Mode'.
On this you will find the toggle switch on top. I am not sure if you should just toggle this on and off, or exit and restart in between.
I am to bed so hope you sort it if you haven't already.

For Galaxy Note 3 users
Go to SETTINGS, then at the top of the screen select DEVICE, then scroll down and select Easy Mode
Change the position of the Slider Switch at the top right of the screen and select OK
Your Screen will change to Easy Mode
To change it back, select Easy Settings, then Easy Mode and change the slider switch at the top right back to OFF
That's it, You're Done! (No more Touch-Wiz screen when you hit the home button)

toggling did not work for me.....it was a temporary fix.....the error message returned after about an hour or two....uninstalled google search updates and all is well! Thanks!
I had the same problem with TouchWiz. Samsung gave me the solution. Backup all of your data to Kies. Reset the phone. Restore the data. It now works properly without the stupid TouchWiz.

i have same problem to. but I just find how to fix this.
on Samsung galaxy s4 go to setting and click on my device, then go to HOME SCREEN MODE select the mode and select standard mode and apply.

If TouchWiz Easy Home is giving you grief (you are stuck in it or want to get rid of it), just go to Application Manager - All tab go down the ordered list to TouchWiz Easy: you cannot uninstall it but you can disable it. If you were stuck in Easy then disabling it will bounce you back to TouchWiz. Cheers.

I had the same problem, which has been bugging me for months. I've just got off the live chat a few minutes ago with Samsung and it appears to be all solved.
Go to settings then select Application manager. Click on options button, then select Reset app preferences and Reset apps. Now from here just power off the phone and remove the battery.
Put the battery back in and turn on the phone. All the settings will be back to the way it used to be. We hope !!!
Remember peoples, Samsung have a live chat box between certain hours for our problems to be solved.

Just Spent a Week Going Crazy and Finally Got Rid of This! I'm glad I found this site cause I thought this was my imagination as I couldn't find anything on the Galaxy Note 3 Guide books I got. I kept pushing Touchwiz Home and Always and its like one worked not the other if that makes sense and the stupid PopUp/Message still kept coming up. I finally got rid of it by keeping on pushing both buttons kind of non-stop. Sorry thats probably not helpful but it did work even though I don't know what exactly I did. An absolutely Horrible experience. I don't understand why there is not a feature like on Windows 7 where you can just go back to earlier settings without losing data you've stored for everything instead of just the current settings. Purpose of this Comment: TO HAVE HOPE YOU CAN GET RID OF THIS NONSENSE!

I was facing this problem in the past 4 month now it's really annoying I was planning to sell the device coz of this problem as I use google search a lot .
Sadly the toggling to home screen easy and back to standard didn't work for me am still facing this problem in Note 3... But uninstalling google now update helped stop it ,,, but it's sad really,,, I can't believe why Google didn't fix this yet

it still comes... what a blunder mistake by Samsung makers and their R&D .... I think this should be highlighted in media circle not to purchase any of Samsung smart phones as this touchwiz home is a serious piece of crap which pops up everytime when we close the screen or press the home button..

easy home, touchwiz home, touchwiz easy home and know are the same piece of crap which are confusing and are acting as a virus to all smart phones of Samsung.. police or other it criminal catcher please act on this virus of Samsung... and please highlight it not to buy this smartphones of Samsung as Samsung isn't dealing with it after so many complaints and no updates to remove or repair this virus- touch wiz....

After trying factory reset , new launcher , deleting calendar app , clearing defaults on task manager and set default launcher ... I was about to throw my Note through the window , when I deleted the update for the Google search ...voila !! When u delete on store you don't delete the app just the update . Solved
