Just wait. See if you still have it in a week

From what I've read, only people who went back and removed the hotspot feature were reverted back to tiered data. I on the other hand intend on keeping it. Will this prevent me from getting reverted back to tiered? Who knows. But I'm not "cheating the system", I'm paying $60 just for data alone, a premium price compared to other carriers.

If you were on tiered data before you added hotspot, they WILL change you over to a tiered plan.

Yes we have proof of it. Since gizmodo decided they hated Verizon customers and posted about it, Verizon's auditing department has been systematically going through accounts and 'fixing' them. The consumerist posted numerous accounts of this happening. Just because it hasn't happened to some people yet, doesn't mean it wont. I'm sorry if you don't like the truth, but it is what it is and verizon has caught on.

Numerous accounts? All they said in their report was one person reported to them. They have no proof just someone saying something. Its not like verizon didn't know about it before, its just that the websites decided to slap it on their front page and got ever more attention. Ofcourse verizon is going to say we are going to do this and that because they don't want user getting unlimited. So far over at xda I have seen no one reporting that they got reverted back or in this thread.

May be it will happen, who knows but so far it seems like barely anyone got put back on their older data plan.

Agreed. Someone could have easily did that to kill some of the fire cause by s like droid life and gizmodo that blew up the loophole so they can get more clicks on their sites.

So, as far as I can tell, no one actually got reverted back to the teired plan then. I still have mine.

Your commenting as if you had solid proof or repeat occurrences. You sound so sure, could you share with us your reason? Did you try this method and got reverted back? Help us understand, it might help everyone here. Thanks.

I think Verizon themselves are scratching their heads on this one. Since this news broke over at slickdeals.net in early December I have helped over 20 friends, family, and co-worker get in on this deals. Not one have been reverted. Not one member from slickdeals forum have been reverted. I'm not saying it will never happen but I definetly not going to say it the way droid800 is saying it. I mean where are your actual proof?

I think they will eventually put people back to the limited data plans. But they have to be really careful about how they go about doing that. So I believe it will take some time.

From the best android phone PERIOD. Galaxy Nexus.

Here is what happened to me. I have 2 lines on a family plan. Called to get unlimited MHS on the first one and it took 3 tries but I eventually got a rep to do it. I waited 20 minutes and then logged on and removed the MHS once I saw the unlimited data. On that line, no charge for the MHS that month.

On the second line, I called and it took again 3 tries to get someone to add the MHS but this time she offered to back date it to the beginning of the billing cycle. I didn't want to rock the boat so I said OK. I waited 20 minutes and then logged on and removed the MHS once I saw the unlimited data on the line. On this line, I was charged for the MHS from the beginning of the billing cycle until the date I removed it (which was the same date as it was added).

So as long as they don't back date it and you remove it the same day you add it, you won't be charged.

The loophole is closed. Enjoy the unlimited data while you can you're about to be changed back to tiered pricing. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

So far so good for me! No "audit team" (LOL!) has called me. The "audit team" sounds like a hoax to me conjured up by people who thought they were special for being grandfathered in to unlimited and resent that others can still get it. Why anyone would care unless they work for or own stock in VZW, I don't know.

Especially us still on unlimited Alltel plans!

Just tried this yesterday and it worked for me.

The trick is NOT to call the 611 customer service line, according to two reps that I've spoken to, they do not have the authority to add this feature. You have to call the Orderings and Activations line 1-877-807-4646 then ask to add feature code #76153. Did this on my first try and it worked. Saw the changes posted on my account 5 minutes later.

How did you get to talk to someone on the activations line?
