How is Nougat so far?

swiping up on that does nothing for me but give a little haptic feedback.
What launcher are you using? Seems like it may only work with the Google launcher.

You can see in the screenshot that it changes from a square to that split square when you've swiped up (with an app already open; does nothing if you're at the Home screen).

I tried to get more info on doze by searching in "help and feedback". This is what I got. How to translate and why is it in a language other than the default on me devise.
What specific screen were you on when you selected the hamburger menu (and subsequently 'Help & feedback')?

As to how to translate, you could select all of the text, copy it and paste it into Google Translate https://forums.androidcentral.com/e....google.android.apps.translate&token=pJgzt3OM

Why that screen shows up in a different language than your OS is problematic. Perhaps that particular screen is just bogus; won't know until you tell us how to get there. Do you have alternate languages selected in your keyboard? Is this your original device? Have you ever done a Factory Reset?

So far, I love it.

Quick camera launch seems to be fixed which was a big gripe of mine. Haven't done too much but the phone is snappy and works well.

Only gripe now is S Health doesn't work even after an uninstall/reinstall

I agree with the S Health, disappointed but then I guess 7.0 isn't on Samsung's radar yet, lol

Has anyone gotten the Zedge app to work? It force closes on N every time I try to open it. I am not feeling the N ringtones and alerts at all.

Works fine for me, I'd trade it for the S Health app though. Kinda takes the wind out of the sails with of my S2 I used it constantly with 6.0.1. Luckily my Pebble Time works flawlessly with N.

Netflix and sling TV are not working for me on the official nougat.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Netflix and now that works. I do like nougat but I wish app developers would be quicker with their updates.

A lot of the carrier phones only got Marshmallow recently. Developers aren't used to handsets having the latest OS right away.

Thanks. I got that yesterday and it worked. So far Nougat is outstanding. I'm at 12hours 30min unplugged with no power-saving tricks at all and am burning about 2.9% p/hr with 2hrs of SoT so far. Reading the news at lunch with about 60% brightness it was burning about 10% p/hr (so figure 9+ hours of just that?!? Wow) which is included in the overall average. Yes, I'm not much of a power-user obviously but this is the same usage as on MM and I'd say it's better (I was averaging about 4% per hour before).

Phone is running cool. Taking 10-15 pictures in a row that need HDR+ processing only make it slightly warm. Under MM this would have burned 10% of my battery. Camera seems snappier and does a better job of macro-photography than it did before. Just out standing!

I do note there are folks reporting just the opposite (heat, battery life worse, etc.) which I just don't get. Feel bad for those folks but it is a notable data point that there people whose performance is dramatically improved. Go figure...

Anyone having issues with Data Saver? I checked off a couple of apps I want the notifications for, and have Data Saver on. However, I'm still getting all the notifications for apps that I don't want to see while on carrier.

I get the same thing on any settings page; device settings, personal settings, etc. Makes no difference. Looks like it is the word "doze" that is the culprit.
no alt languages selected anywhere.
original device.
never factory reset.

Try it and see if you get the same thing. I'll be curious.

Is there a way to see how often Doze activates? After several days of normal use on N, I do notice a slight increase in battery life. I'm finishing the day with ~5% more battery vs M. I am noticing that Android System and Android OS are at the top of my battery use. Screen is usually third on the list.

There's absolutely a way to see Doze's activity through the GSam battery application. You will find this layout on the app's home screen under the ”held awake” tab.

N fixed the slow notification shade pull down gesture in Nova launcher.

Also fixed the horrible scrolling problem in Xmarks.

I'm kind of annoyed they left these bugs in for a year but now that they are fixed I'm happy. Haven't found anything wrong either, seems to be a nice release.
