[how to]cm7 + cm9 + cm10

its been a while since i rooted a phone, i have a LG phoenix and was trying to install this mod but i lost my root it was gingerbreak, do i still need to root b4 installing the mod? and what should i use to root?

Root the phone and install the app "rom manager". Flash recovery for optimus one old bb if you are on 2.2. If you are on 2.3 flash new bb. Then u can boot into recovery and flash the zip file. There are plenty of guides online already. Use google .:)

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

I can't seem boot into recovery when I flash new bb on my p505 2.3 but when I flash old bb I can boot into recovery no problem. Will this cause me grief later?

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

No
You needed to flash OBB regardless for this phone.
Only other option is the recoveries built for this phone.
HAPPY MODING.

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

Sorry for the excessive questions I'm simply apprehensive... Is there any way to retrieve my settings and apps from my backup and apply them to my new flashed rom?

Some things may be transferable but most wont when you switch from one version to the next things seem to get all screwy. My suggestion is to move everything you can off of phone and sync it every way you can with an online service.

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

Thanks for all the help I successfully flashed the ROM with no hiccups. I used titanium backup for most of my apps and Gmail sync for contacts/ calendar events. Wondering if anyone is noticing a problem with their screen when the phone is connected to a charger and powered off. Mine has shown the battery status temporarily then when I checked back on it it was unresponsive with a black screen. I tried it several times with the same results. It's not a deal breaker but it would be nice if I could resolve this. For the time being I'll charge with the power on...

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

For some reason I am unable to use certain rom manager settings since flashing this rom. Whether choosing to make a backup of current rom or booting into recovery my phone will give me a static screen then reboot. I try rebooting into recovery from the shutdown menu with the same results... Any ideas?

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

Disregard my previous post I finally got reboot options to work again as well as rom manager. Any suggestions on best overclock settings to prevent my phone from getting too tripped up over itself ;-)

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

Personally I would just leave your CPU stock. Yeah its fun to crank it up as fast as it will go, but honestly you are not going to see that much real world performance increase you wont be able to run any programs like netflix because you have tweaked the clock rate. In my opinion the only thing you will do is waste battery and cause stability issues. But with that said you can overclock to what ever your phone will take. You will have to play around with settings there. Increase the performance one step at a time till it starts acting up then back it off. There is no set clock speed that will work it just depends on your phone, they are all different.

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

I am having strange battery issues with this setup. My phone seems to either charge extremely slowly or not at all when plugged in. It took me all day to realize that despite having my phone plugged in at my desk, and plugged in at home, the battery level was not actually ever going up, and the phone eventually dies. The battery icon shows the charging animation as well. 2 nights ago I left it plugged in all night after it finally completely died and it was charged to 100% in the morning when I powered it on. Last night however the phone died so I left it plugged in overnight and the battery was only at 41% this morning (and the phone was powered on) so it appears that the phone may have powered on while charging last night and hence is why the battery is so low. I'm wondering if this could ge connected to the known issue of USB mass storage not working?

I was previously running CM 7.2 Kane rom with unnameable's 2.08 kernel, and followed the exact flashing directions at the top of this thread. Everything else on the phone does work perfectly fine, anyone else experiencing this? Battery life is less than stellar as the phone seems to drain battery just as fast when on airplane mode as it does when all data is on...

I partially agree. I only overclock because I do notice android is a bit faster and the animations are smoother. It also does help performance in games. Overclocking from 600 to 748 yields nearly a 25% performance increase. I noticed the biggest diiference playing dead space.

fair enough I will agree that games will be a little snappier I personally just never saw any issue but the games I play are normally way less graphics intensive.

Have you tried calibrating your battery since switching ROMs? Could be an easy fix for you. I personally am experiencing an increase in battery life since flashing from stock 2.3.4

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

Same here I get two day charge and perhaps more sometimes depending on use for that day. That's also with a overclock of min 480 and max 600

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

How long after flashing did it take for the calibration to work? I charged mine last night and it was dead by morning, I just flashed to this rom yesterday though so I know there are a few charge cycles before it works itself out.

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

I charged mine to 100% then wiped the battery and let it charge for another hour

Re: [HOW TO]Perfect working CM7

I tried flashing the newest nightly over the version in this post and wound up with color issues. Are there any other steps I'm missing or is the newest nightly not going to work for the p505? I assume the link to the nightly downloads is known by most, I'd post it but am not sure if it's against forum rules.

Flash both kernels again after the rom
