[HOW-TO] Flashable Zip: Install Honeycomb to Internal Memory (eMMC) of Nook Color

I had the "Please enter password" issue using a 10 rated 16GB card. I read somewhere that Android can have an issue with 10 speed cards. I tried again with a 4 speed 16GB San Disk card and it worked first time. Now I need to work out how to get the marketplace on there.

about to attempt this tomorrow, but was wondering if this allows for dual booting? can i switch between nook os and HC? if so, how?

thanks!

i installed honeycomb and was able to see and download from the market. it says the app is downloading, but actually it's not going anywhere. what's wong?

I get the same thing when I am running off of the flashable zip. Try installing HC using the manual way and see if that helps.

install of HC to internal storage went smoothly, got it up on my wifi and logged into gmail. But I can't download anything from the droid market. help. "download (insert app name here) Unsuccessful". I try again without success. ideas?

You used v4. Use v4-second-edition. The link is in this thread (posted a few times, one of them was by me.)

Thanks. Was able to find v4-second edition, installed, app market install working great. appreciate the help!

Using honeycomb v4-second edition on nook, what utility can I use/install to set location since it appears to want to use cell or gps for location determination? And does anyone else have issues with viewing youtube videos? I tried a few sample ones and they attempt to load and then error out. Thanks!

This is an incredibly stupid question - but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I was able to flash Honeycomb to an 8gb card and install the market, google services, etc. I am incredibly amazed at how well this runs, especially when you take into account that the nookcolor is a $249 ebook reader and Honeycomb is running off of a card! What I can't figure out, however, is how to load any music/video/pictures onto it (apps are installing fine from the Market). I've connected the nook to 2 computers (both running Windows 7) and they show two removable drives but they both show as no space available. When I use the Nook it claims to have about 600 megs of storage space available. I have no doubt I'm doing something extremely stupid, but since I was able to do the rest of this without knowing anything about adb, command lines, etc. I guess I'm due for overlooking something extremely obvious. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I am in the same boat. Rooted, Honeycomb, have flashed several apps via ADB, but for the life of me, I can't figure out something as simple as loading up books, movies, and music onto this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get a micro sd card and copy all those things on the card via an external card reader.

You can also copy stuff through shell of ADB, to the device itself.

I am probably in the wrong form as I have external HC, not internal, but haven't been finding any help on this. My SD card says I have 14GB of space, but when I try to copy directly via an external reader, I have virtually no space. I can't drop and drag anything onto the card. I have loaded a few programs via ADB, but for movies and books, that would be pretty tough. Is there something I need to do to my SD card to allow me to drop and drag files directly onto the card?

Thanks for this. Works really nice. Installed internally. A few programs will not run. I have copied from my droid phone and run the install but then they error out saying that no market link is found. One APP is Redbox, it will not run and is not listed in the Market when using the NC, but it is listed when using my phone. Firefox is another app that wont run.

Also, as mentioned by others, the YOUTUBE app is not working very well. I have found though that if you watch a video in standard quality it works fine, but only errors when running in HQ.

At first i could not figure out how to read my eBooks in Nook for Android. I had to find the folder that the app was searching. Once i found that, i copied the books to that folder and shazam, now i have 200+ ebooks to read.

Cant wait for the bluetooth to get activated. Then all is well.

BTW, is there an app that shows what the cpu clock is running at?

Just a quick note of thanks to everyone involved in getting the HCv4 to run internally. I am absolutely tickled with this device.

No Clockwork Recovery at this point.

If you're looking for a simple install and good performance, pick up a quality Class 10 SD, install the new overclock kernel for v3 and run it that way. This internal method ain't for the faint of heart (plus it has that red screen flash thingy that hung around on the SD version until the most recent update).

I would like to do the simple install. My head is really spinning, so many links and pages to read is all very confusing. Could you post a link to the simple install please.

Thanks
Tom

Got my NC tablet few days go for $187 from EBay, and followed the forums to root it and install 4-second edition HC on it, everything went fine, despite a small issue with flashing the CWM image on my 4GB MicroSD card using the 128mb version, but was able to resolve this issue using the correct CWM_4gb version of the img

Everything is working great, the Market, Youtube, all other apps (Facebook, Seemic) and games AngryBirds offcource, and other set of games use to play it on my DInc

Thanks to the forum for these great info, now I have a HC Android Tablet for $187, Sorry Xooom

internal vs. external

I am now running HC off an SD card, and it generally runs well. The only problem I have encountered with it is that the latest Kindle update (3.0) won't run on it, though people who have HC installed internally on their Nooks say it works fine for them. (I went back to Kindle 2.04 and it works fine, though I like the 3.0 interface.)

Is there a difference in performance or stability between an external and an internal installation? The internal root looks no more complicated than the SD installation (maybe even a bit easier), but I'm hesitant to do the internal root (mainly because of rumors that B&N will offer HC 'soon'). Besides, I like the stock Nook e-book reader.

Finally, a weird question: has anyone who has rooted their Nook ever put the stock Nook system on an SD card and run it off of that? (kind of the opposite of what I'm doing now)?

Thanks!

Stuck on boot

Tried to root from 1.2 and now I am stuck on boot. Anyone aware of a post dealing with this issue? The problem is the incompatibility between current versions of clockwork and autonooter and 1.2. All posts regarding boot issues are for 1.0 or 1.1. Please help. Thanks!

headphone jack

after installing this rom the headphone jack no longer recognizes headphones and the NC just uses the internal speaker. also the gallery crashes randomly.
have there been any driver updates that haven't been added to the original post?
