That's what I thought.

See that big fat "0" to the left of 2011-03-17? That's the file size. And right now it's a big fat nothing. Which means flash_image doesn't do diddly squat when executed.

Here's how to fix it:

1) Again, remove all instances of flash_image from /system/bin and /sdcard
2) Remove all instances of flash_image from your computer.
3) Download flash_image.zip from the Xionia recovery thread.
4) Copy flash_image from inside the ZIP file to the sdcard.
5) Make sure the /system is mounted read-write
6) Execute this:
busybox cp /sdcard/flash_image /system/bin/flash_image
7) Re-post the new output of
ls -l /system/bin/flash_image

When download the flash_image it says its only 12kb??? is that all the bigger it is?

The extracted file in the folder flash_image is 26kb

Looks like /sdcard/flash_image is a directory, not a file. Post the output of
ls -l /sdcard/flash_image
Yes, flash_image is 26Kb, when you do ls -l it should be 26172, not 0.

EDIT: Why did you copy the flash_image directory? I told you to copy the flash_image FILE. No matter, this will work anyway.

Sorry about that, it is the right size this time. Should remove the file from the directory and place it on the root of the card or leave as is?

Sweet I flashed it and this time it took a couple seconds for it to show the next line and now when I reboot in recov i have a black screen which I am assuming is a good thing right about now!

Yep. Use Android Screencast and you'll be able to see what you're doing. Or you can flash Xionia .4 which is based on the VC kernel (therefore has the drivers for the new LCD screen).

Do step 6 in Part 1 (this will update you to LS670ZVD), then do Part 5. Also, make sure your device is in regular Android mode before using the LG update tool.

Warning: I just now realized that Quick Boot won't work until you're rooted so instead of using Quick Boot to reboot to recovery mode, just issue
adb reboot recovery
from a Windows command prompt (NOT in adb shell).

Will doing this update bring me back to having the proper driver for the screen? Thought that before when I was having problem on V9 i tried using this and still didnt have any display and had to use the revert back to vc. If this fails can i revert back to vd?

I see no reason why the VD update shouldn't work with the screen. And yes, you will be able to revert to VC and still be able to follow Part 5 of the VD rooting guide.
