Oh okay. Well you keep looking for a solution and I'll do some research and see if I can find anything that might help you.

Something seems little fishy to me either of the drivers are not installing properly or the other problem with your computer recognizing your phone.

Are you sure that the adb drivers are installed properly?

yes sir i have installed them twice now
but what do you do with them once there installed on the pc ??
plus this method does not say anything about the adb drivers ?

Once you install the drivers attached to the first post you do nothing else.

ADB drivers are installed when you first plug in your phone to the computer. They were not listed because it is a given that they will be there. Though sometimes they do not get installed properly.

Here is what I did to root:

1. Download the 64bit drivers and installed them (I have the 64bit Windows 7 OS)

2. Downloaded the .zip file and unzipped to my desktop using the extract all button.

3. Went to Settings > Applications > Developement > and Enabled Debugging on the phone.

4. Plugged my phone into the computer and waited for it to come up in My Computer.

5. Opened the folder on my desktop and double clicked the START_ROOT file from the extracted folder

6. Waited

7. Rooted.

8. :)

you are the man thank you so much now on to a lagfix !!!

YEA ME TOO, now i cant download anything from the market LOL, i did the cache wipe and rebooted and still nothing... why me...

I can solve that too I think

Do back into Manage Applications. Then go to the Market app listed there. Do clear data and clear cache.

odd they just started downloading now... ok so now onto making a back up where do i start ? on the droid X i just used rom manager... Im guessing its not that easy on the fascinate ?

Sure it is. If you have clockworkmod installed you can do a nandbackup. That would be the easiest way. To do that go into ROM Manager and boot into recovery. There are options within the CWM recovery console to do a nand backup. You can easily restore with that.

If you are going to do the lagfix you will need Clockworkmod anyways.

You can also use TitaniumBackup(I think...never really used it).

ok so i did that and it said failed signture failed and now it shows the trinagle with the ! in it and a android next to it ?

Walk me through it xactly what you did step by step

1. clockwork recovery mod
2. flashclock work, fascinate
3. backup current rom.
4 phone rebooted into recovery then it started going through the settings,
it said signture failed and i didnt know but the home key is the select key so i just rebooted the phone...

In clockwork mod the home key actually just turns the screen blank if you get the home key again spring comes back on. The power key actually selects things in clockwork mod. Did you actually select anything to get the yellow triangle with an !
