It seems that I have become the victim of the Sudden Death issue with my rooted international S3. My phone freezes and becomes unresponsive and I have to force reset it. I thought maybe updating my CM to a later version would stop it, but obviously it didn't work. I conclude now that it is the Sudden Death issue and that I must upgrade my firmware baseband version.
Current Baseband Version: I9300XXLH1 (yeah... pretty old...)
However, I am just unclear as to how to upgrade the firmware whilst on CM.
- Do I just download the file and flash it via CWM?
- Do I have to revert back to Stock Samsung software first?
- Is there any particular steps I must follow? (e.g. complete wipe first, install firmware then reinstall CM?)
Please help! Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
