HTC 10 Owners: First Impressions, Initial Reviews Thread

Re: S7 Edge to HTC 10 - First Impressions are mixed.

I swapped from the s7 edge to the 10. So far I like the 10 better overall. Both are great devices. I have not tested the Canberra on the 10 yet but I'm sure it will be decent.

Either way you cannot go wrong with either device. I will say though the build on the 10 it's definitely better although the s7 edge is no slouch.

HTC email app is annoying me. Every time I open my email it refreshes/resynchs all my emails in my inbox. It never used to do that on my M8. Is there a way to turn that off? Sammy email app was quite nice to be honest.

Re: S7 Edge to HTC 10 - First Impressions are mixed.

Hi Guys,

How is the performance of the 3.5mm jack power between S7E & HTC10? I am looking to switch from iPhone6 and I like listen to music and podcasts a lot during train ride.

Thanks!

I'm loving the new phone, very fast! Question. So on the m8, on power saving mode I was able to allow vibration feedback. on the HTC 10 on power saving mode it disables feedback, anyone know how to enable that option while using power saver mode?

Also anyway to rearrange/hide apps in notification bar like you can on the m8??

If you like the S7E but aren't a fan of the performance, I highly recommend picking up Nova Launcher Prime in the Play store for a few dollars. Will change the way you use the phone and the performance (night and day).

I had the 10 too but brought it back (I also had the S7E before it). Time and again I find myself checking out the demo unit of the 10 to see if I might've been wrong. There's something about the display that puts me off - it's just too dim. I'll probably be returning to the S7E (I went from Sammy to HTC based on the reviews and claims HTC made about the phone - strange how they don't necessarily hold up).

S7E has a terrible audio DAC (it's the standard built-in SD820 - no good). The 10 is great and LG V10. Also, Exynos series S7/S7E or Note 5 has a Wolfson DAC, not the on-board one the S7/S7E (Snapdragon 820) has. Basically you want a 10 or V10 or Note 5 (or imported international Exynos S7/S7E).

Welcome to Android. It's confusing sometimes.

I haven't used the 10 yet but there was a nice review about the audio here where someone said he thought the 10 was much better than the S7 in terms of headphone jack and speakers. Several pro reviews I've seen in the past few weeks have said the same. I'm really looking forward to it.

Yeah, the brightness Samsung offers, as silly as that sounds, is what's keeping me with them. I know there are so many other things to like about the 10, but a dim screen (comparatively speaking of course) isn't something I can deal with every single day. Oh well.

For me, it's strange to see people say this as I rarely every want/need my phone at max brightness. I'm usually wanting it to be comfortable to look at in indoor lighting (which the S7E wasn't for me). It's good we all have choices to suit us though. I hope HTC does well because competition in the marketplace is ultimately a blessing to the customers.
