Battery issues, my favorite subject! I am not one to run into these problemes often, but there is one thing I hate. It's when an app sucks on my battery, when I'm not using it, and when I tell it to stop. Most of the problem is Google. Google Now always listening. Google wants to know your location. Google wants to save your preferences.
Turn off GPS, or put it on battery saver mode. THE worst offender is Google tracking. Turn off auto sync. Log out of Facebook. Move from the Yahoo Mail app, to the stock. For wifi, go to Settings>Wifi>Menu>Advanced, then switch off the 'always scanning' option. Turn off hypatic feedback, key press sounds, vibrate on incoming call. These may enhance the great things of your phone, but I'm sure you don't have an audience dying to see it with you. Turn off data, when not in use. Change sync settings to manual, or extend sync schedule. Last but not least, if you can't force stop an app, get ri& of it. Forget task mgr. The app will just restart, take its sweet time and battery life, and turn you into babysitter for life.
For data, the slower the data connection (but stable) the less stress on your phone. Since wifi is usually closer than a cell tower, and nowadays slower than LTE, stick on CDMA (for Sprint and Verizon) , or WCDMA (for ATT and Tmobile). Pick ONLY option if using an app.
Oh, and remember, you can have LTE usage on 0 bars of signal, but boy is it a battery gusher.
Hope this helps!
