Yeah, you'll have no problem hearing these speakers. They get LOUD. Like, easily louder than the HTC One M9. The G4 speakers aren't quite as deep sounding as the M9, but there's a good mid focus that sounds decent. This speaker is more than capable of filling my tiny office with music.

Does your positive take on the speakers apply to the earpiece & microphones? Are incoming calls clear? Have any callees (?) had problems hearing or understanding you? Is the sound on videos you've shot (no matter how you play 'em back) good? just okay? godawful?

It has a removable back cover so I would think not.

The LG G3, with it's removable back cover, was water resistant. Dropped mine in the toilet and it works just fine. Youtube videos demonstrating as much. Hope they didn't take this feature away in the G4.

Not saying this would ever come up, just showing a down side to the finger print scanner, your fingerprint can be used to unlock your phone if you are detained by law enforcement, but your unlock code cannot.

The cops can't access your cell phone without a warrant and in that case it's not going to matter if you have a fingerprint sensor or a code. The Supreme Court last year ruled in Riley v. California that warrants are required for cellphone searches at the time of arrest.

But does the manufacturer state anything of the sort for the LG G3 or the G4. That would be a big NO! You get it wet and think LG will replace it for you = No! Will LG say you voided your warranty = YES. Not everything posted on the internet is true.

I was apart of this and the full ruling states that as long as your phone is locked, the owner now expects a level of privacy. So as long as the phone is locked, apon arrest the police must get a warrant to explore the subject's phone. If left unlocked, the owner doesn't expect any form of privacy and such phone can be viewed by police without a warrant.

I don't remember anything said about fingerprint locking methods, so I can't speak for that. But I know who to talk to to get this information and I'll investigate the matter in the morning.

Edit: in an unlocked state, the officer can not do a true search of your phone, but can turn off security features or turn the phone off to prevent a data wipe.

So in an unlocked state, you are right. Police can turn off security features or turn off your phone. But to do a real search they must get a warrant. No need for me to make a phone call as fingerprints wont matter according to the SCOTUS.

A wild LG G4 appears!

Here's the deal — T-Mobile sent me an early version of the G4. As you can see, it's one of the leather versions. It's got "pre-production" TMO software onboard, but is otherwise the same G4 Phil, Derek, Alex, and Richard saw at the NYC and London events today. We've got a ton of info for you to enjoy already from our initial hands-on and first impressions with the device, but now it's time to focus on the deeper stuff and really get to know the phone.

So lets get to it, toss me some questions and I'll do my best to answer them. I'm only three hours into the first time using the phone, but I'd love to share whatever I can with you.

My question is about headphone jack output. Have you got or done any tests on it? The HTC M7 with its powerful speakers had less than thrilling audio out through the jack.

I never said anything about a warranty or returning the phone. I simply stated it was water resistant and it is. Nothing more, nothing less.

Plenty of articles out there about the camera, there's even one on AC and it's not hard to find. The camera has been discussed in this thread if you just look.

Battery life he has not discussed because he has a pre-production unit and wanted to wait until the final production for battery testing. As for the camera read back in the forum he comments on the camera and has pictures as well.
