I was reading where the honor 8 won't get Oreo?

Re: I was reading where the honor 8 won't get Oero?

The honor 5x isn't on nougat despite being promised 2 years updates

It was promised but it wasn't one of the models announced getting it later in the year. That's the announcements I'm talking about. Gotta wait till huawei made another announcements for it. If they do

OK then it sounds like their promise of two years updates are worthless

Re: I was reading where the honor 8 won't get Oero?

Yah unfortunately.
But then if they reneg on two year updates, what's to stop them from reneging on the list that they promised would get a certain update?

If the honor 8 did as poor as I've been told on here then I would not be surprised if we don't get the promised updates. Still my thoughts though are that the honor 8 did do well enough not to be left out. It is honors flagship phone so with that said I believe the honor will get what was promised.

Hope that you are right. It sets a bad precedence if they keep reneging on their promises

Huawei is going to have to step it up if they are serious about overtaking Apple and Samsung. This also includes being a player in the USA. And they shouldn't expect to immediately have great sales numbers in the USA - this part will take a few years. Having them in retail stores like Best Buy is great, but I hope they also get a relationship with a carrier. I haven't heard anything more about the rumored relationship with AT&T.

If Huawei doesn't get my phone on to 8.0 after stating their products will be updated then they've lost a follower here.
I'm very tired of waiting for this company to own up or at least tell users the truth.

Reminds me a lot of the attitude of evasion Microsoft took with WM.

I just stated something similar in another thread. Right now Huawei honor is my favorite phone brand. They make superior devices and they are of great quality but if I'm unable to buy anymore of their product then what's the use in keeping on supporting them and being a fan if I am unable to buy any of their devices here. I'll be forced to move on either going back to Apple where I came from or finding another brand to give my support and money to buying other future phones. They have even stated that their plan is to enter the US market once 5g is in common use which that could be two more years away. By then I'll have moved on and they would have lost me and I'm sure I'm not the only one they'd loose. If they don't keep at least a couple of upper end phones here in the US they are going to totally loose most of their current customer base they've built thus far. I hope we are wrong and they end up releasing another flagship honor device along with another mid level like the 7x. It's not looking good though.

Being a player in the US is a must. As well as in India. But it's hard to penetrated the states. Not sure how they're doing in India but they can't neglect India. They just overtook US as the second biggest market in the world

Awesome !! I recommend download Backdrops or Zedge for amazing wallpapers
I will do that. Right now I'm using a star wars wallpaper as I'm a huge fan. I'll have to check those two out and see if I can find something cool to use. I change my wallpaper or home screen all the time as I don't use the same one for long. I did however find a icon pack for EMUI that I really like which I'll use for a while or until I find something that beats what I have now. The icons are oval shaped and look pretty cool. I found them from a EMUI app from the play store where they have several different icon packs to choose from.

It certainly takes time. In 2007,the cell phone market share was significantly different. Motorola sold more phones than Samsung. Nokia sold like 3x more phones than Samsung.

And almost everyone bought a blackberry. Look at them now.

I wouldn't give up on Huawei or Honor phones in the US. It's very obvious it is their objective to become a bigger player here. We might see their approach change a bit in 2018 (carrier relationship, actual real advertising, or maybe a launch event held in the US?) I wonder if Alex Dobie knows more about this than he's saying. ;-)

Honor isn't even approaching marketing a new phone for US users.

I'm not against the honor brand as much as honor has abandoned the US consumer.
Huawei/Honor is smart to recede from markets that show loss.

I don't think they abandoned US just yet.
