I'm beginning to regret getting this phone

Hey Zog.

Glad your phone is fine. Would you mind going and pissing up somebody elses thread instead? I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a fanboi thread here somewhere.

Thanks.

Third reboot since 8am. Slightly under 3 hours.

That's it. I'm calling these blithering idiots at Verizon. I will not under any circumstances accept a refurbished phone. I want a new one.

There's a store right up the street from me. Would I be able to switch it out there or are they just going to piss me off more than I already am?

i would try both. Sometimes you have better luck with one more than the other.

good luck!

Considering everything else the phone does I can deal with the phone rebooting when I'm not using it, as that's when they rebooted. Go get an iPhone if you hate your phone so much.

Wow, people are so touchy about their beloved phones. Go back to your Thunderbolt alter and offer it a sacrificial lamb, maybe it will be pleased and continue to reboot only when you are not using it. :D

Thanks.

Has anybody been to a store with theirs? I really can't afford to stand around in the store all day today.

One other question for anybody who has done a swap out...

I've got pics and SMS that I don't want lost. Do they put your old SD card into the new phone?

What can I do to backup everything else? When I was looking at rooting, I looked into My Backup. Does that app store the data on the SD card?

Thanks.

I'm not touchy, I'm just saying I've had no problems with my phone.

maybe if i was him a would return the phone and stop complaining about it. Get a new TB, Iphone, or that RAZR you have always wanted..

Ahh, the RAZR, now THAT was a great phone!

and I didn't need a backpack to carry it and spare batteries around!! :D

pics should be on the sd card, sms and mms are stored on the phone, i do not know if you can get them off.

maybe forward them to an email address?

You're texts will be gone, unless you forward them to your email. and your pictures and all that will be saved on your SD card. Also they won't give you a brand new phone, you're going to get a refurbished one.

Did you install the latest OTA update?

I've read that Verizon is replacing phones for those who are having reboot issues after the OTA.

Sorry to hear about all of that -- I personally have had none of those issues.

That is correct. After the OTA update, my phone was rebooting every 5 - 7 minutes. I called Verizon on Friday morning and 20 minutes later I had a replacement on the way. They even paid for Saturday shipping. Had the replacement at 9 am on Saturday. Activated it, restored my apps, the OTA started by itself, and everything has been great since then. GPS locks on very quick, much better battery life, stronger 4G signal and no reboots. The phone is working like a champ.

Oh yeah, I told Verizon about the Steinheil screen protector I had and they credited my account $30.

Ok, that is BS. Absolutely unacceptable. I paid way to much for this phone to get some patched up piece of crap that was previously owned. I'm about to go raise hell with Verizon.

Regarding the SD, are you saying they swap that between the phones?

Actually, you said more that "just" that.

Letting people know that you aren't having the same problems with your phone is helpful, it means there is something wrong with ZOKAR's phone and it can be fixed or replaced with a working model.

Telling him this phone is not for him or to get an iPhone is insulting and stinks of fanboyism.

you can remove the sd card yourself. I would not rely on them to remember to switch them,

They will swap the sim card - backup anything (non-app) you have on the SD card.

Wasn't the phone new when you got it and now it's having all of these issues. I'd probably feel a little more confident about a refurbished phone because it has already been looked at and supposedly fixed.

Oh, and by the way, if you go into Verizon with the attitude you are spewing on here, they'll probably d### around with you on this. I'm sure they'll be happy to take your ETF and send you on your way.

Ok, got it. I've just installed My Backup (and believe it or not, the phone didn't even reboot!) and this thing is pretty slick. Backups up all the app data on everything I have installed as well as SMS and MMS and even the screen configurations.

Neat.

I'll at least be able to root this time since I have to set it all back up again, but I'm just not going to deal with them pawning a refurbished phone on me.

To the person that got one shipped to them, was yours new or a refurb?

YAY!!!

See - that makes me think it is build issues again. Why would the same model phones be so different otherwise?

Yes, you just pop out your SD card and put it in the new one. You're going to be wasting your breath man, they won't give you a brand new one.
