Put 5s back on dumb line, got the "pending" for now, so unable to put dumb phone back on. Currently following instructions on pg79 of this thread.

at this point, I would get tech support on the line. To get to tech support, you dial *611, hit #3, then say you are having trouble making and receiving calls and it is not from the phone you are calling from. That will get you to tech support. They are more knowledgeable IME.

ok, when the live chat op finishes, if no luck, i'll do that. It seems to me that it is a verizon system issue.

It definitely is and it seems to happen with iphones. Tech support people seem to be the most knowledgeable about everything except maybe billing questions. And they can put unlimited data back on your line, too if there is a problem.

I suspect you are fine having activated it twice now, but it is concerning that it isn't showing up online as having been on the account before.

Sorry for all the merkyness, but heres the rundown.

When i tried to put the second 5s on my wife's line, on the web site, the options were my old I4, and my new 5s...the one on my line. Didn't have an option to put the second 5s on wife's line, though, that was the device; w/o service; previously on this account. Tried live chat....no help

eventually tried reactivating on dummy line and then reactivating dumb phone again to free it up. Same issues. Went through the another live chat, and she eventually managed to activate the inactive 5s on my number.....The good part.....My first 5s phone was now inactive, and still appearing in the device options that I could switch with the old Iphone4 for wife's line.

Sorry if confusing, but, I have kept my 2 unlimited data lines and a dummy line with no data. And got the subsidised phones....but if this works 2 or so years from now, i'll probly try a Droid

And got the subsidised phones....but if this works 2 or so years from now, i'll probly try a Droid

Get a Moto X developer edition, as close to a Nexus as we will likely ever have on Verizon at least until Verizon eliminates CDMA and goes to VoLTE (we can only hope).

JMHO...5s not better than 4. I wanted 4g lte, and already know Iphone, But I'm not too excited about the 5s now that i have played with it. Dont like that it is more narrow, and bigger screen, still too small. Not looking for a tablet (Galaxy) but 4 to 4.25 would be nice. Will definitely consider OTHER than iphone next time.

well that part about being able to go back to unlimited data after a month at 6GB certainly is not in line with anything I have been told by Verizon or have read here on the forums.

I have read about trading your unlimited data plan for 6GB/mo at the same price $30, and for some people it may be a good trade for now. I am more worried about the future.

I can't imagine Verizon is letting anyone go back to unlimited data, though, after they make the switch.

So how much $$$ is 6gb usually? Tomorrow I'm suppose to get the phone call back from the supervisor at 9am, I'm stressing out pretty hard. I've been using the iPhone for a few days now, haven't took the damn thing of WiFi but there is no way I can utilize my iPhone to it's fullest extent if I don't have unlimited. My wife wants to use Pandora at work for example, she'd use data up pretty quickly. Hopefully I get my unl data back tomorrow and I can bee done with this. I need this to be over b/c I need to also purchase warranty plans for our phones, I might go with Apple Care or the Best Buy plan that is similar, don't know which is better. But I don't want to put it on now then tomorrow find out I cant get unlimited back and have to return my phones. So I got a lot riding on this out come.

Any advice for me tomorrow when she calls (if she does)? If not I'll have to think of something as I really don't want to have to go through the process of returning everything. I guess I could always go to the BB store that is a little further away and purchase phones through them and do the dummy line that way.

I should of listened to you and just have done the dummy line method lol but I wanted the phones asap I didnt want to wait for them to be shipped to me from BB and also the iPhones on VZW where to expensive.

I can't believe I'm actually going to lose sleep tonight over this see..Everyone wish me good luck!

I need this to be over b/c I need to also purchase warranty plans for our phones, I might go with Apple Care or the Best Buy plan that is similar, don't know which is better.

When I looked into it for my Mom, I went with Apple Care. $99 for 2 years tech support, mechanical failure and accidental damage protection, with $49 deductible for accidental damage (max 2 accidental damage claims). If you sell your device before 2 years, they refund you the prorated amount left on the plan. AND you are dealing directly with Apple so it is great service.

Any advice for me tomorrow when she calls (if she does)? If not I'll have to think of something as I really don't want to have to go through the process of returning everything.

Just tell her you are returning the phones if you can't get unlimited back if you keep the phones because you would have never purchased them if it didn't say keep existing plan. My friend got them to do it for her so you may be lucky, too.

Yes, those are Share Everything plans.

Those are the Family Share plans that are grandfathered in. You have one of those with your wife. Each of you has unlimited data but you share the talk minutes.

Yes, so if you stay on your Family Share plan (aka Nationwide Talk and Text) you would still share minutes with your wife but each of you would get 6GB of data to use (12GB total) if you give up your unlimited data.

LOL, maybe they'll give me 10GB/$30 for each line, due to this whole mess up they caused.

There were promotional packages like the double data promo and $300mb smartphone data plan as well

Apple care plus deductible is currently $79. Keep in mind that apple care plus doesn't cover loss or theft, which asurion does. Otherwise, apple care is a better deal.

Apple care plus deductible is currently $79.

It's $99 to get the accidental damage protection. The $79 plan is only an extended warranty + tech support.

Verizon isn't sunseting cdma until 2021 at the earliest. Though we can expect to see volte phones next year sometime.

got it. They must have upped that since January when I bought it last.

They upped it right before the 5s came out. Still way more reasonable than best buy and asurion which are $150 and $170/200. In fact I can't think of a reason to get best buy any more.
