Hello! What is the best way to upgrade both phones and keep UDP?

Line 1. S4 UDP - Upgrade Available
Line 2. S4 TDP - Upgrade Available 2GB

I was trying to find a similar case as mine, but there are so many pages.
Any help would be great! Thanks!

It's easy. The basics are as follows:

1.) Upgrade Line 2 (the tiered data line) first. This can be done in-store or online at any location. Whatever you prefer is fine.

Once that line has been upgraded, it's time to work on the unlimited line. Do the following:

2.) Online through either Best Buy or Verizon, transfer the unlimited upgrade to the tiered data line. Order the phone that you want have it shipped to home.
3.) When the new smartphone arrives, activate it on the tiered line following the directions that come with the phone.
4.) Wait at least an hour and make sure the phone works as expected
5.) Power off the new smartphone
6.) Log into your Verizon account and select "activate or switch device"
7.) Select Line 2 and reactivate the old smartphone that you got in Step 1.
8.) Now select Line 1 and activate the smartphone that was shipped to you in Step 2.

The above are the basics. There might be subtle changes based on the new phones you want for the two Lines. What new phones are you hoping to order?

Yeah, the rep was lying to you about switching phones. All you need to do is the following:

1.) Upgrade Line 3 to the S6. Go back to the Verizon store and work with a different rep. Don't mention anything about switching phones. Just upgrade the line and leave the store making sure the new S6 works.
2.) After an hour, log into Verizon online and select "Activate or switch devices".
3.) Select Line 1 (the unlimited line you want the S6 on).
4.) Now select "switch device" and choose the phone number of Line 3.
5.) Just follow the rest of the directions and you'll swap phones between the two lines.

At this point, you'll have the S6 on Line 1 and the S4 on Line 3. From there, you might want to factory reset the S4 so it can be set up for your daughter, but obviously, that's a personal matter for you to decide.

Last spring I used the Best Buy method to get an S5, which I gave to my wife. We both still have unlimited data, so it worked.

Currently still have two UDP lines:

UDP 1 (currently an LGG2 that i use)upgrade available in 2016

UDP 2 (my wife's S5) upgrade available since 2014

I want to use line 2s upgrade to get an LG G4 but keep UDP.

Order the G4 using Line 2's upgrade from either Verizon or Best Buy and have it shipped to home. When it arrives put the SIM card from your G2 directly into the new G4 before turning it on or charging it. Once the old SIM is in the G4, go ahead and turn it on to activate.

Great thank you! So it takes care of the sim card issue for me then when I do the online switch? So if i understand you correctky, I don't have to move the s4 back to line 3 and then the s6 to line 1. I just do the s6 to line 1 and it moves the s4 to line 3 automatically?

Line 2. Wants the Droid Turbo.

I was not sure if I needed to get new SIM cards.... I have one Nano I was able to obtain from a VZ authorized re-seller.

2line: basic flip phone upgrade available

I just ordered the upgrade on the 2nd line and got a LG G4, and it just arrived home and not 100% sure on what to do so that I don't loose the UDP.
Do I, simply take out the GS3 sim card and put it in the new LG G4 or do I have to so something on Verizon online?

Any help is always appreciated

Just put your unlimited sim into the phone. If you activate the phone on line 2 you will be stuck with days for 2 years on line 2.

I think I understand how its done, buy want to make sure. Here is my situation.
I want to upgrade line 1 to a LG G4 or Nexus 6.
Line 1 MotoX 2014 UDP no upgrade.
Line 5 dummy phone upgrade available

Do I order a phone on line 5 through Best Buy online, use Sim card from line 1? I know I can use the same Sim on the Nexus...Sim adaptor on LG G4.

Will line 5 still be a dummy line?

You can do both orders back to back at the same time. Just make sure to keep the phones straight when they arrive. If you activate the wrong phone on the wrong line, you'll lose unlimited. That's the only problem with the method when using the exact same phone. As long as you keep them straight, you'll have no problems.

Thank you again for your help. I'll be sure to keep them straight. I just want to make sure of everything before I do this. Step 9 says 9.) Follow the rest of the directions to activate the phone. Will during that part I'll be reinserting my old sim cards into the new phones?

I have 5 lines on a 700 minute family share.

Two of them have UDP, both with an upgrade available. Currently, they have a Galaxy Note 3, and a Droid Rzr Maxx on them. Lines 1 and 2

One line with a 2 GB TDP and a Galaxy S4. Line 3

One line with a 4 GB TDP and a Droid Rzr Maxx. Line 4

One line with no data, currently no device. Line 5

Line 5 will get a basic phone in a few months, and will be my sons line.

Line 1 and 2 I would like to upgrade. They both currently have UDP, and I don't want to lose that. I will stay with Android smart phones on both. So then, what I gather is that I'm going to transfer the upgrades from lines 1 and 2 to lines 3 and 4. Order phones through Best Buy, then destroy sims when they arrive, install sims from lines 1 and 2 without turning on phones first, and then simply turn on phone, and make a call.

Have I got this right? Am I missing any steps? Is this method still working, or is there a better way to go about it? Thanks in advance for any help!

Only if they allow delivery. Generally Best Buy only did in store pickup on new phones. It will not work on in store pickup.

That will work. If you are transferring upgrade you don't have to worry about destroying the Sims. You can just activate then on the tiered lines then swap the SIMs around.

Is should stay without data as long as the phone is not activated on that line. You also won't be able to change the phone for a couple months.

Hi dusoccer. Me again. In case you don't remember I'm doing the upgrade on my dumb phone line via Best Buy. Shipping tomorrow and I know before turning phone on put Sim card from my existing LG G2 so I keep unlimited. Spoke to Best Buy about 100 gift card you are supposed to get with the G4. They say it will be emailed after phone ships and phone is activated. Since I'm not actually activating should I assume I probably won't get gift card (rather have unlimited anyway). Or can Best Buy not really see if it was activated on that line. Just curious if I won't be getting my gift card lol.
