Use money from sale and buy s7 at retail allowing me to keep my L1 UDP and avoid the $20 increase for UDP on L1.
Hope I'm not missing anything.
Verizon jacked up the cost of being on a plan that they don't offer anymore and that you really can't do anything about since your not on contract. Was put into effect November of last year. What is this $20 increase? How does that work?
Hi, first off want to just thank everyone for all the help/advice they've posted on here. My eyes are crossed trying to read through all the pages. I think I have it figured out but just want to run it by you all to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Family 700 plan:
L1: note 3, UDP, upgrade available
L2: iphone 6s,UDP, no upgrade
L3: basic flip phone, no upgrade
I want to use upgrade on L1 and get s7 from best buy. Then remove Sim on s7 and sell on craigslist. Use money from sale and buy s7 at retail allowing me to keep my L1 UDP and avoid the $20 increase for UDP on L1.

hmmm, if you use the upgrade, you lose UDP. Are you talking about getting on a two year contract and paying the subsidized price? If you do device payment, then you still have to payoff the device before you can sell it. Once you sell it, you're right back where you started, but now you don't have an upgrade available. I don't understand how you are going to buy it, sell it, then have enough money to buy it at retail?
I was going to buy the s7 with my available upgrade on my UDP line from best buy. Have it shipped to my home, remove the Sim without turning on the phone and then sell the s7. I would use the money from selling the s7 to buy a new phone at retail.
I'm hoping this works.
If you use the upgrage, you lose UDP. Only way to keep is to buy the phone outright and not use any verizon program or financing.
Actually, they don't do the subsidized two year contract. You will be putting on a device payment plan, and of course you will have to pay the full price for it before you can sell it. So, you're really not making any money there. There is no more upgrade subsidy.

Here is the info I used to make my decision. I just ordered today.
