I'll let you know as soon as my note 7 comes and activate it. It was pretty clear when navigating the verizon website though. There was nothing tricky or suspicious looking. When it has you select a data plan it clearly shows my nationwide talk 550 plan and clearly shows an option for 49.99 unlimited data.

Thanks again for all the help here guys. I've upgraded several times through this website and really appreciate you guiding me through the last few upgrades. I almost lost unlimited data when I had to switch from 3g phone to 4g phone years ago ! That was the trickiest one so far.

Anyway I'll post back once phone is activated

Do I really have to change my phone numbers now that I have done the upgrades and UDPs are still intact? I don't want to if I don't have to. I did two direct upgrades on VZW site and one 4ever method to a TDP. Sims are destroyed. Would like to sell the phones.

ETA - I think as I read it again that you have to change the phone to COMPLETE the processes. But if I am destroying the sim and selling the phone then I am not completing the process. Right?

I was wondering if this method still works.

My line is udp 49.99, I plan on ordering a note 7 through bestbuy using the 2 year contract option, didn't say anything about changing my data or plan all the way up till checkout. When I receive the phone I will remove the new sim card and destroy it. I will then sell the phone. Will I keep my unlimited data plan on my current old phone?

Now it's being posted that if you are paying $49.99 you can use the subsidized price, use the phone and keep UDP. Read the last page of two of post and you will see that.

I posted earlier and was going to purchase full retail and cut my sim card but this solution may be a lot better and cheaper.

I currently have a note 3 paying 49.99 usd for UDP. My phone is currently out of contract for 3 years now. I have an eligible upgrade since august of 2013.
If i do an upgrade now would I be safe?

I was looking to upgrade out of contract to a Note 7 and was told today that buying a new phone would not affect my UDP, whether I used my old SIM or not. They said that Verizon has already sent out notices to the ultra heavy users it wanted off its service. Then I was told that the UDP was going to see another price increase come November. No details were given about said increase so I told them I would wait to buy a phone in November.

Line 1: S6 (29.99 UDP until 2017)
Line 2 S6 (29.99 UDP until 2017)
Line 3 S7 edge( 29.99 UDP until July 28 2018) just upgraded using the Best buy
Line 4 S5 is up for early upgrade (29.99 UDP offical date is 08/12/16)

I want to upgrade line 4 to the new Note 7, my dilemma is, should I just use Best buy as usual, or go with Verizon as the phone is $299.99 compared to $349.99 at Best buy. ( I have only used Best Buy method for the last few years)

Also my other question, If I preorder does my contract go into effect right away or only when I get the phone to my house? I upgraded Line 3 a few days early before the contract expired, I am thinking if I am on contract Verizon can't kick me out as I use more data then Verizon wants me to.

If line 3 has a upgrade, yes. But remember you will have to pay for the next 2 years the data you choose on check out.

It you use line 4's upgrade and then put that phone on line 4 you will lose your UDP on that line, no matter what method you use.

As you know the only way to use this method is not to use the phone on the line you upgrade on. So Line 4 upgrade will be used by Line 2. thanks for the heads up just in case someone didn't know.

You didn't state in your original post that you was putting the upgrade on line 2, so I thought you wanted to keep it on the same line.

Yes you can use Verizon and it upgrades your contract as soon as you order.

Quick question. I still have the $29 UDP on my single line, my contract is up 8/12/16, I can already renew my contract if I wish as I logged in last night to see.
My question is if I didn't want to go through the hassle of BBM, then selling the new phone, then buying a new phone for full retail, how does my account get bumped up the extra $20 fee (becoming $49 for UDP)? Would I just have to let the contract expire then wait a month for me to see the extra fee. From what I'm reading once you are on the $49 UDP plan you can simple just get a new contract and phone straight from VZ.

It should automatically show the new fee on the next billing cycle after the contract end date.

Bb currently has promotion for moto z force for 99.99 with speaker moto mod for free. Is it safer to just do everything via Verizon ? On the bb site I could even see my plan.

*Note that at one time the website did act funny and gave me a page does not exist error. But I wonder if it's bc I kept canceling and signing out. I have not atempted to test upgrading again. But I did lower my plan from 900mins @79.99 to 450 mins @59.99

It shouldn't matter of you use BB or Verizon. I have asked before for somebody to confirm but never got an answer.

So I said screw it and decided to go with the BBM/sell. I'm at the end where it wants to review and place my order, but at no time did it ask me what I wanted to choose for a plan? I hit upgrade, chose the phone, entered info, shipping, etc. I remember last year there was a check box, to keep my current plan or choose a new one, but I saw no such options this time. Is this normal?

I do see the paragraph saying "Except as follows, your current Verizon price plan and features will not be changed with this transaction. Each device added or upgraded to your account will incur a Monthly Line Access Fee which may vary based upon your contract or device payment enrollment. Those customers Upgrading with a 2-Yr contract who have an Unlimited Data package will be enrolled in the Verizon 2GB Data Plan for that line for $30/month. If you complete this transaction, Unlimited Data cannot be returned to your line of service." which has always been there, just worded different two years ago when I did this.
