Apple finally made bigger screens but failed by making them too thin. LOL. Apple takes a long time but they do it right. LMAO
I have not yet seen a test showing how much force is required to bend the iPhone 6+ in comparison to other devices. I'm sure it's less, but a guy saying "I'm pushing harder than on the iPhone" tells us nothingApparently the iPhone requires far less force to bend than all the other phones tested so far.
I disagree. You might think it doesn't tell us enough, but it is definitely not "nothing".I have not yet seen a test showing how much force is required to bend the iPhone 6+ in comparison to other devices. I'm sure it's less, but a guy saying "I'm pushing harder than on the iPhone" tells us nothing
Aside from the obvious, of course. The only thing it tells us is that it is somewhat easier to bend. Not how much less. Not why it does. Nor if the amount required to bend is less than that which would occur normally within someone's pocket.I disagree. You might think it doesn't tell us enough, but it is definitely not "nothing".
Even if it is...so what? Apple decided to sacrifice durability for the sake of looks. The end result is the same.
The Note 3 is slightly over 1mm thicker...thats not a lot.
SMH. 9 people out of 10+ million reported bending problems. 9.0.
IMO, I believe these types of issues have always plagued Apple more than other devices, you could blame a bit on laser scrutiny from being on top or just say that form sometimes took precedent over function.
Just a short history...
- Apple III, and Macinstosh 128k heat issues (from Jobs mandatory no fan order) that caused "100% hardware failure" according to Wozniak
- G4 Cube - Beautiful device with major heat issues
- Macbook 13" - Shuts down under normal use, required heatsink replacement
- Splintering and chipping plastic pieces off the Macbook
- IMac G5 - Capacitors bursting
- iPhone 4 - AntennaGate - Gotta hold it right to get a signal
- iPhone 4s - Yellow tinting on white versions
- iPhone 5 - Lens flare on photos when lights were in the photo
- iPhone 5 - Sleep/Wake button issues
- Macbook Air - Wide reporting of snapped hinges.
- iPad - Acknowledged WiFi connectivity issues (personally got to support that and told our router was the problem by over confident users)
That's just some of the major hardware issues, won't even go into major software issues that have always been there from IOS 8 release to Apple Maps and the most recent update.
Not to say other device manufacturers don't have issues, but if I had half the issues with my HTC or Asus devices over the years I would have dumped the brands by now.
Apple responds:
Our iPhones are designed, engineered and manufactured to be both beautiful and sturdy. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus feature a precision engineered unibody enclosure constructed from machining a custom grade of 6000 series anodized aluminum, which is tempered for extra strength. They also feature stainless steel and titanium inserts to reinforce high stress locations and use the strongest glass in the smartphone industry. We chose these high-quality materials and construction very carefully for their strength and durability. We also perform rigorous tests throughout the entire development cycle including 3-point bending, pressure point cycling, sit, torsion, and user studies. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus meet or exceed all of our high quality standards to endure everyday, real life use.
With normal use a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus. As with any Apple product, if you have questions please contact Apple."
9 complaints out of 10,000,000. Yeah, serious issue.

I'm sure there are more, and will be more. It's only a matter of time.

If you don't put it in your pocket then where??
No need to publicly respond if it's really only 9 cases.Don't you think that if it was a serious problem, that the number would be much higher? At least in the hundreds, if not thousands.
