I'm not finding it to be annoying. But I am going folder heavy as if was using an iPhone.

How is the performance? Lag in the web browser, games, other apps? Or is everything pretty seamless? I mostly use my phone for web browsing, pandora and youtube. Coming from a 2014 Moto x, would this feel like a slug?

Yes you will see a lot more lag on the 5x. I have the Droid mini which is similar in performance to the Moto X first gen,but I am assuming that the Moto x 2014 would perform similar or better than the first gen.

Nah... I wouldn't call it a slug. I own a 6P, which is the most nimble phone on the market at the moment, and while the H5X is noticeably slower, for the light and medium duty stuff, it's actually not bad at all. I'm actually pretty happy with the speed considering its class and price.
And to be honest, the more I use it, the more I kind of like it. While I might not agree with the overall execution, I understand what Huawei is getting at with EMUI. First, battery life over everything. Second, present the user with a simplified user experience initially (launcher, notification and quick settings). Lastly, stuff in a surprising amount of settings, but bury them at a deep enough level such that inexperienced users won't get overwhelmed with options, yet savvy users will be able to fuss with an surprising level of app control. You can control how apps run, where/when they can notify, etc...

Performance has been fine for me. Knowing that this is a $200 phone powered by a Snapdragon 615 and 2GB of RAM, performance while in an app meets my expectations.
Ingress plays fine and I've been big on Bloons Tower Defense 5 lately. This doesn't feel like a slug to me, though because of aggressive battery management, expect apps to be kicked out of memory when multitasking.

They should make this with vanilla android and USB type C.

It charges extremely slow on that included charger. It might say 1A on the brick, but monitoring the phone with the charger going, it barely hits .5A.... not sure why. But to fill the gaping maw of that 3000mah lump, .5A doesn't really cut it. When it's plugged into either the Moto brick I got with my Nexus 6, or the RavPower pack, I see it pop up around 1.5A... so I'll stick with those.
I noticed the same thing! I got the one I ordered for my dad in the mail yesterday. Plugged it in to give it some juice before I brought it over to him and it took like an hour to go from 70% to 90%.
My dad seems to like it. He's still playing with it and getting used to it. I can confirm that the two sims are dual standby. He had his US sim and his international sim in the phone and we tested calls and texts to both numbers with no issues.
One thing I did notice is that the auto screen brightness setting didn't seem to switch fast enough, causing the screen to appear dim.

1. Does this record video in 60fps format?
2. Can we process the slow motion video later on to make a part video slow motion like htc/iphone etc do...thanx in advance

Yeah, the stock charger says its a 1A brick, but some tools I have pretty much maxed out at around 0.5A... a third of what I saw when I popped it on a higher capacity charger. On a 3000mah battery, that isn't exactly a recipe for speed. It's obviously a cost-cutting measure... which is expected as it's a $200 phone, after all. I am sure the Mate 8 comes with a better charging brick.
For new smartphone users, this can be a bit of a pain... but a lot of users will probably have a box full of bricks to pick from at this point.

Would this device purchased in US work in Europe? What frequencies does it support? Does it have any SIM-card region lock?

Guess I won't be selling the charger of my OPO. It's a fast charger with an excellent USB cable.
