This has nothing to do with hate...for Pete's sake, I'm not one of those Verizon Community people that hates on people like me for having unlimited data while they have to share 2GB with 5 people, use Wi-Fi all the time and then prays that Verizon takes away my unlimited. Trust me, that's hate...
My thing is more or less caution. I don't trust Verizon anymore than I can throw them...and I couldn't throw them very far.
Oh I guess Verizon responded to it.. Read the tweet in the picture below.

Read this instead.... Really only option that VZW had legally. Glad they didn't act like a-holes....
I didn't say it was the only option, just that it really was the only option - just for the comments you've already made. In addition, other people had commented previously that VZW would just change everyone to 2GB plan, no other option but that wouldn't be legal. Any change to the agreement/terms would give people a chance to cancel without an ETF and be a huge hit to the bottom line. All things considered, this was the only option that VZW had realistically. It wasn't their only (legal) option. It is simply the easiest path they could take.
They would have had to invest time and resources in notifying affected customers, developing a system that would force an option to return the phone and go back to the old plan or pick a new data plan. If the customer chose to return, stores would be negatively impacted. Customers would need the option to mail items back too. Just a mess.

Have most of you had to call Verizon to get the unlimited data corrected? I pre-ordered the Note 3 and wanted to get a general idea before the phone comes in and I activate it.
I purchased the SGN3 over the weekend during the glitch. My Verizon account and my invoice showed unlimited data was still in tact.
Would I be able to verify the account information on the phone during activation or is this something I find out after? Sorry for the questions, but I've always been one to buy the phones in store and the Verizon reps took care of activating the phones for me.
I was one of the lucky ones who purchased during this timeframe and have the email with unlimited data on my agreement. My Note 3 should arrive tonight. I will report back what happens with my data plan.
Thanks to all who posted.

I've heard some say they got moved to 2 GB but after calling customer service they put unlimited back.
