Installation:
1) Download kernel ZIP
2) Place ZIP on root of sd card
3) Reboot to recovery mode
4) Flash kernel ZIP as you would a ROM
5) PROFIT!
Noob here....
Ok, just want to make sure I have this right... 2.6.32.33 07272011 Is a kernel... not a ROM ehh?
I still do the wipes in recovery Pre Flash?
Thx
Noobie Doobie Doooo
There is no need to a data wipe when you flash a kernel but generally speaking it's not a bad idea to wipe the cache/dalvik cache (though again, shouldn't be required).
You sure? I'm looking over the updater-script and it definitely does copy the modules. I think the issue is actually that it didn't delete the old TCP and dma_test modules. The version names between those and the kernel won't match, which could be the cause of this error.
Code:mount("MTD", "system", "/system"); package_extract_dir("system", "/system"); unmount("/system");
Yes, I'm sure. Update the modules, check the md5 or SHA sums. The modules exist on a separate filesystem from /system which AnyKernel is not updating.
The modules are in /system/lib/modules, and the installer zip IS installing them. I already fixed this issue.
Please read this post for reference.
I know where the modules are, but what I'm telling you is that AnyKernel won't update them. /system/lib/modules is a separate filesystem that is, AFAIK, not being mounted by CW recovery. I'm not talking about what you did or didn't include in your zip, I'm talking about AnyKernel not properly copying over the modules in my tests.

Thank you for your concern (seriously) but this issue has been fixed. There has even been a version bump since the issue was fixed, and no issues with modules have been reported.
Please refer to this post by the developer of the AnyKernel updater that specifically talks about the kernel and modules.
Anyone GPS stop working? I went from 7-25 *gps working fine* to 7-27 and now my gps isnt working. I did also have a google maps update but I tried other apps that use gps and it fails.
