[KERNEL][CM9][ICS] CAF-based 2.6.35 kernel for ICS-based roms

Good Evening,

I'm on the new kernel running ICS_AOKP and when i try to turn on wifi it doesn't start.
log cat is stating driver not found.

Anyone else getting this... i did a full wipe and everything going to the new AOKP, have tried re flashing, but nothing seems to work.

Cheers

Yes i use that rom, because the customization of AOKP, and the addons that dynamite33 put, i use it for gaming and it works fine with my overclocked thrive....

Deathglobe is right, the new kernel released by arjen corrects the blackscreen bug, so in theory you can use any ICS rom for the P500

Um I don't think you should mirror without permission....just saying....and I have no trouble with wifi.

I can say that the Thrive update worked flawlessly!
Used the latest P500 download from June 13th and the kernel released today along with the baseband fix then reflashed GApps and it works amazingly (is that a word?)
But there is the minor issue with booting still where it boots to the LG logo, then brings up the charging animation. The only workaround so far: use the "reboot system" option in CWM

Other than that, it's amazing as always Arjen! Great work!

Just wanted to tell you guys that Arjen isn't feeling well so he's resting now. He'll try to work on the battery bug.

Same here. AOKP allowed me to shutdown & boot, but wifi is no go.

Post to confirm that the blackscreen bug is gone in the new kernel.

What i did (with 0529 stable cm9 and arjen's first kernel, which had the bs bug):

-wipe cache partition
-flash the new 061412 kernel

everything is working, wifi works perfectly and NO more blackscreen bug!

Thanks very much, Arjen, you are awesome!

I can confirm that. Arjen, thanks again for all your hard work. I will be buying at least 3 drinks in the next few hours.

Same, no wifi with AOKP, or dynamites version. I try to toggle it on and it instantly toggles off and grey's out. Not a huge issue considering how well Arjens 6/15 build of cm9 runs.

in order to fix it,
1.wipe data, cache, format boot and system
2.flash rom and flash previous kernel(the one with blackscreen bug). Reboot
3. Once fully booted up, reboot to recovery and then flash the 6/14 kernel with no blackscreen bug, the wifi should work then

I can confirm this method works for LG thrive. Thank you!

I did this without the full wipe and its working fine.

Thanks alot for the info

Thanks for the work on the kernel Arjen, I was AWOL for a while due to some personal issues I come back to see whats going on and poof we have a kernel. Great work!!! I read through the thread and it appears they only issues are a few people getting issues with the Wifi and some battery display bug when booting. Has anyone confirmed an issue with the custom CWM we have (the one with the fixed colors)? If not, once I have some time to read all the posts I have missed, I will play lab rat for the group. Is the ICS kerenl/rom combo as stable as the stock GB? How about battery life I get about 26 hours now with occasional use with the stock how does ICS compare? Did the scene ever get GPU acceleration working since the source code for our GPU was released?

The difference is the multi touch fix. But It actually hasn't been fixed yet. He said he's gonna work on it.
